In Aves Compartidas, my role was an educator for 4th grade students. I facilitated 5 lessons and assisted in ten lessons with the 4th grade classes at River Road/El Camino del Rio Elementary school. My team and I utilized interdisciplinary lessons to educate these students on terrestrial migratory birds traveling from Guanajuato, Mexico and Oregon, United States. Using previous lesson plans from our community partners, the Willamette-Laja Twinning Partnership, I adapted two 45-minute lesson plans, which focused on the subjects of art, geography, and science. Additionally, I created two Google Slides presentations to go along with each lesson. The design and formatting of these presentations were used in the remainder of my team's lesson plans. Additionally, I worked on my team's website, specifically with 4th grade's curriculum page, the acknowledgements page, and general editing. These lessons, the full 4th grade curriculum, and the Aves Compartidas 2023 website can be viewed in the links below.

Interactive flight path poster I made for my 4th grade class showing the 5 lessons we will be covering in our in-classroom visits, concluding with our field trip. Students are able to move the bird down after each lesson is finished, while migrating from Oregon to Guanajuato.
