A Scholarship fund is established within the organization for any VESA member wishing to pursue his/her education and better himself/herself. The maximum reimbursement per year per person will be $300.00 upon availability of funds. The VESA calendar year for the scholarship fund will be from August 1st to July 31st of the year.
The Scholarship Fund may be used for any of the following:
Registration Fees for:
- TESA Fall Conference (if held)
- TESA Summer Work Conference
- TESA sponsored Area Workshops
- STEM courses
- Continuing Education Courses through a college/university or professional organization.
College/university course(s) must show passing grade. Please note: no late registration fee will be reimbursed.
In order to receive reimbursement for any of the above listed items, VESA members must meet the following requirements:
- TESA member for the prior two (2) years (VESA members must present proof of membership in TESA for the past two (2) years, membership cards or original letter from TESA).
- Active VESA member for the prior two (2) years (VESA members must present proof of membership in VESA for the past two (2) years.
- Active VESA member must have attended at least four (4) of the eight (8) regular VESA meetings (between September-April) as substantiated by signature appearing on the attendance list available at each regular meeting.
Reimbursement Procedures:
- District must not have paid for any courses or registration fee;
- If a college/university course, must present report card or transcript indicating passing grade;
- Request for reimbursement must be submitted within one month of conference, workshop, end of course at college/university;
- Payment must have been made by personal check, cashier’s check or money order;
- Must submit a copy of canceled check, copy of cashier’s check or money order and certificate of attendance or copy of college/university report card or transcript showing passing grade;
- Reimbursement will be handled on a first come-first serve basis.
Scholarship reimbursement will be made provided that money is available in the savings account.
