In alphabetical order:
Walker is a PhD student of aerospace engineering from Frisco, TX. To date, his work has spanned reduced-order structural modeling, multidisciplinary optimization of morphing UAS and development of a low-cost wind tunnel system to study free-flight maneuvers. In addition, he is currently a year-round intern at Sandia National Laboratories where he is developing an automated workflow for modeling mesoscale surface roughness features in hypersonic flows utilizing wall-resolved LES.
Gavin is a senior undergraduate student studying Aerospace Engineering at Texas A&M University, with interests in aerodynamics, aircraft design, and CFD modeling. Now in his second semester working under Dr. Geelen, he is contributing to research on fast quadratic learning methods for large-scale CFD problems. Outside of academics, he enjoys running, biking, and flying RC planes and helicopters.
I am always seeking motivated researchers to help us push the frontiers of aerospace simulation. If you are passionate about the intersection of computational engineering, data-driven modeling, and high-performance computing, please consider joining us!
I admit graduate students through the Texas A&M Department of Aerospace Engineering. Please apply directly to the PhD or MS program and note your interest in working with me in your application. Admission is highly competitive; I look for a strong alignment between your background in numerical methods, algorithm development, or scientific computing and our current research needs. If you are already enrolled at Texas A&M and are interested in joining the group, please email me your CV and an unofficial transcript. Clearly state the type of opportunity you are seeking (PhD, MS Thesis, or AERO 491/485 project).
