Strava isn’t required to participate, but the Trail Trot is built around the free version of the Strava platform for tracking and standings.
If you use another app or device to track your rides, you can still participate by Filling out the Route Entry form. Be sure to include a link to your ride, and make sure it’s set to public so we can view and verify that you completed the correct route or trail. Once verified, you’ll get full credit.
The Trail Trot is built around the free version of the Strava platform for tracking and standings.
Once you complete your ride and submit your entry, your points will automatically appear on the Standings Page. This keeps the competition live and exciting! However, please keep the following verification process in mind:
Initial Posting: Your points are visible as soon as you submit, but they are considered "pending verification."
Board Review: A board member will review your submission to ensure everything is in order. If they have any questions about your GPS data or ride details, they may reach out to you directly for clarification.
Verification Standards: To keep the leaderboard fair, points may be adjusted or removed if verification shows the route was not followed correctly.
Open the Strava app and go to the activity where you think the segment was hidden.
Tap the activity to open it fully.
Scroll down to the Segments section.
Tap “View All Results” (or something similar) to expand the full list of segments.
Scroll to the bottom and tap “Show Hidden Efforts”.
You’ll see a list of hidden segments — tap the eye icon next to any segment you want to unhide.
That segment will now be visible on your activity, and future efforts on that segment will also show up unless you hide it again.
Go to strava.com and log in.
Click on “Training” in the top navigation, then choose “My Activities.”
Click the title of the activity you want to edit.
Scroll down to the Segments section.
Click “Show Hidden Segments” at the bottom of the list.
Find the segment you want to unhide, then click the “Unhide” (eye) icon next to it.
Hidden segments won’t show up in your segment stats or standings.
You can hide or unhide segments at any time for each activity.
Unhiding a segment can help if a segment didn’t register properly at first, or if you want to make sure it counts toward challenges or standings.
That’s great to hear! We’re always excited when folks want to share cool new ideas. While the routes for this year’s Trail Trot are already set, we’d still love to see what you’ve got. Just reach out to a board member and send your route our way. We’ll check it out and keep it in mind for next year’s event.
Want to be part of the fun behind the scenes? We’d love to have you on the team! If you're interested in helping out or joining the Trail Trot committee, talk to any board member. We’ll get you plugged in and ready to roll.
