# Privacy Policy – Rezint Tech
Rezint Tech respects your privacy and is committed to protecting user data. This Privacy Policy explains how our app collects, uses, stores, and protects information in compliance with Google Play policies.
## 1. Services Used
Our application uses the following Google services to provide core functionality:
- Google Sign-In (authentication)
- Google Firebase (database, authentication, notifications)
- Google Maps (location-based features)
- Google AdMob (advertising)
- Google Play Billing (in-app subscriptions)
## 2. Data We Collect
We collect only the data necessary to provide app functionality.
**Account & Profile Data:**
- Name
- Email address
- User ID (UID)
- Profile photo (optional)
**Communication Data:**
- Chat messages (used only for messaging features)
**Location Data (Optional):**
- Location data for map-based features
- Live walking/running route tracking
- Location-based notifications
- Background location during an active tracking session only
**Device & Usage Data:**
- Device identifiers
- App interaction data (for analytics and crash reporting)
**Advertising Data:**
- Advertising ID (used by Google AdMob for ad personalization and frequency capping)
**Subscription Data:**
- Subscription status (active/inactive)
- Purchase history (managed by Google Play)
- Payment information is handled entirely by Google Play and is NOT stored by us
**Optional User Data:**
- Friends list (mutual connections only)
- Privacy preferences (location visibility settings)
- Family member information (optional and visible only to the user)
- Physical activity data (step count, distance, duration)
## 3. How We Use Location Data
Rezint Tech uses location data strictly for user-initiated features:
- Tracking walking and running routes with a live path on the map
- Sending location-based notifications if enabled by the user
**Background Location Usage:**
Background location access is used **only** when:
- A walking or running session is active, or
- Location-based notifications are enabled
Background tracking stops immediately when the user ends the session or disables the feature. A persistent notification is shown while background location is active.
## 4. In-App Subscriptions
We offer optional premium subscriptions through Google Play Billing:
- Subscription status is stored to provide premium features
- Payment processing is handled entirely by Google Play
- We do NOT collect or store payment card information
- Subscription data includes: status (active/inactive), start date, renewal date
- Users can manage or cancel subscriptions anytime via Google Play Store
**Premium Features:**
- Limited ads (reduced ad frequency)
- Unlimited friends
- Premium badge (blue verification tick)
- Priority support
## 5. Data Retention
- Location data (including background tracking data) is automatically deleted after 30 days
- Chat messages are retained until manually deleted by users
- Account data is retained until account deletion
- Subscription history is retained as per Google Play policies
- Users can delete their account and all associated data at any time from Profile → Delete Account
## 6. Data Security
- All data is encrypted in transit using HTTPS/TLS
- Data is securely stored on Google Firebase infrastructure
- Access to data is restricted and protected using industry-standard security measures
- Payment information is secured by Google Play (we never see your payment details)
## 7. Data Sharing
We do not sell user data.
We share limited data **only with trusted service providers** such as:
- Google Firebase (data storage & authentication)
- Google Sign-In (login)
- Google AdMob (advertising)
- Google Play Billing (subscription management)
Data is shared strictly to provide app functionality, analytics, and ads, in compliance with Google Play policies.
## 8. Advertising
- The app displays ads using Google AdMob
- AdMob may collect Advertising ID and device information
- Ads may be personalized based on user interactions
- Advertising ID is **not linked** to sensitive data such as chat messages or precise location history
- Premium subscribers see limited ads (reduced frequency)
- Users can opt out of personalized ads from: Device Settings → Google → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalization

## 9. User Controls & Rights
Users can:
- Access, correct, or delete your data anytime
- Delete account and all data via Profile → Delete Account
- View, edit, or delete their data
- Disable optional features (location sharing, friends, family tree, physical activity tracking)
- Control location visibility (Public / Private)
- Manage or cancel subscriptions via Google Play Store
- Delete their account and all data anytime
## 10. Optional Features
**Friends System:**
- Mutual connections only, auto-removed when unfollowed
**Privacy Settings:**
- Control who can see your location
**Family Tree:**
- Optional, editable, and visible only to you
**Physical Activity Tracking:**
- Optional step counter and distance tracking
- Can be enabled/disabled anytime
**Premium Subscription:**
- Optional paid subscription for enhanced features
- Managed through Google Play Billing
## 11. Children's Privacy
Rezint Tech does not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If such data is identified, it will be deleted immediately.
## 12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to comply with legal or policy requirements. Users will be notified of significant changes.
