I'm an Assistant Professor (CLTA) in Philosophy and the Center for Medieval Studies at the University of Toronto, St. George Campus. I'm also an Associate Faculty Member in the School of Graduate Studies and a member of the Collaborative Specialization in Ancient and Medieval Philosophy (CSAMP).
I work on questions in ethics, epistemology, and action theory through the study of the history of philosophy. I'm particularly interested in medieval Arabic and Persian philosophy, and Kant. I have worked extensively on Kant's conception of epistemic norms and their relation to moral norms. Currently, I'm working on a large project about moral epistemology, imagination, and the value of friendship by drawing from the writings of al-Ghazālī, Suhrawardī, and especially Tūsī.
Here, you can find information about a conference and two local workshops that I am co-organizing in 2025.
My other name is "Mohammad Reza Karim Hadisi," and I've presented papers under that name.
