Your account must be made on or before January 31st, 2025.
Your account must not be leaderboard banned. To verify this, your account must have played 10 rated racing kings games in the past week and have a rating deviation lower than 65.
Your account must not be marked in violation of the Lichess TOS.
Your account must have played at least 500 rated Racing Kings games before the tournament starts
For the U2100 RKOC, your account must have played at least 200 rated Racing Kings games before the tournament starts.
Each player may only register on one account.
To compete in the U2100 RKOC, your account's Racing Kings rating must be below 2100, and your highest achieved Racing Kings rating must be below 2150.
Players must have joined the Racing Kings Competitions Committee team on Lichess.
Matches will be played as a best of ten games with a time control of three minutes with a two second increment (3+2). The first to reach 5,5 game points wins the match.
An exception is made for the final match which will be a best of fourteen games
All games played are to be rated and in the Racing Kings variant.
In the event that all ten games have been played in the match and no clear winner is decided (the score is 5-5), tiebreaker games will continue until a winner has been decided:
The time control will remain three minutes with a two second increment (3+2)
The higher seeded player will assume the white pieces in the first tiebreaker game
If a decisive result is reached (a player wins), the match ends with the winner of the game as the winner of the match.
If the result of the tiebreaker game is a draw, players will swap colors and repeat the process until a decisive result has been reached (a player wins a tiebreaker game)
Players will be seeded into the bracket after registration requirements have been verified based on their T Rating
The T Rating will be calculated as an average of their Racing Kings Rating as of August 2nd at 14:00 UTC and their peak Racing Kings Rating from their Lichess account.
The tournament format for both the U2100 division and the Open Division will consist of a two-stage tournament preceded by a preliminary play-in round and followed by a final match.
The preliminary round will be a single-elimination round between the odd number of players to seed into a bracket of the power of two (but greater than eight players).
The first stage of the tournament will be a double-elimination bracket until there are four players remaining
The second stage of the tournament will be a round-robin to determine the two finalists
The final match will be a best of fourteen games in the time control of three minutes with a two seconds increments (3+2). The winner of the second stage will start with a 2-0 lead.
The preliminary round of the tournament will begin no later than August 3rd at 12:00 UTC and finish by August 10th 23:59 UTC. Each following round will start at 0:00 UTC on the Monday of the week and finish by 23:59 UTC on the Sunday of the week. All matches must for the designated rounds must be scheduled and played during this time frame.
Brackets will be posted on Challonge. Tournament directors will be using Lichess Messaging and Forums to give information about pairings and timelines for this tournament.
Players are responsible for determining their opponent beyond the first round pairings. The first round pairings will be announced in a designated forum.
Players are responsible for offering three match times across at least two different days at least six hours apartÂ
Players may request an extension if neither player can agree to a time. This request must be made before the round ends and only one extension per match will be granted. Only 2 extensions per player will be granted per tournament.
If players do not schedule their match or request an extension, a TD will request screenshots of the chats regarding match negotiation. A TD will forfeit the players who followed match negotiation requirements the least. If both players are at equal fault, the higher seed will be advanced. This type of advancement will only be allowed once per player.
If a player is found in violation of the TOS during the tournament. They will forfeit their two previous matches and matches will be replayed accordingly. They will also receive a 1 year ban for participating in RKCC tournaments.
If a player is found to have intentionally forfeited or lost a match, this player will be removed from the tournament and receive a 1 tournament ban for RKCC tournaments.
If a player is suspected of cheating, this player can be reported to Lichess through the Report function. Players may make a private message to a TD about this and TDs may take action appropriate based on the evidence shown.
If a player is found to have registered on 2 or more separate accounts, all of their accounts will be forfeited from the tournament. Their previous match result will be overturned (if necessary). They will receive a 1 year ban from all RKCC tournaments.
If a case occurs involving 1 or more TDs, the remaining TDs will be the only ones allowed to decide what action will be taken.
If a case does not fall into the aforementioned rules, TDs will be allowed to decide what actions or changes to the tournament will take place. This may include anywhere from a match forfeit, a tournament forfeit, or up to a multiple year RKCC ban.
