Dr. Madan studies the influence of motivational processes on memory using a range of experimental approaches, including behavioural experiments, eyetracking, brain imaging, and computational modelling. He has been an Assistant Professor at the University of Nottingham (UK), but will soon be moving to MacEwan University (Canada).

Adam is an Associate Professor in Experimental Psychology at UCL. His research uses eye movement recordings to understand the moment-to-moment decisions made by readers during reading. One current area of interest is how intrinsic reward shapes how readers engage with text.

I am a cognitive neuroscientist interested in learning, decision-making, and cognitive control. Current research explores topics such as the role of prediction errors in (declarative) learning and meta-learning (e.g., learning one’s curriculum or learning algorithm). My methodological approach is to build computational models and test them with experimental psychology and neuroscience methods. Thus, I aim to bridge across levels of description of behavior.
I'm a a postdoctoral Marie Skłodowska-Curie fellow at the University of Barcelona. My research focuses on second language (L2) learning, adopting an interdisciplinary approach that integrates psycholinguistic and social cognitive perspectives. Specifically, I examine how action and social interaction shapes the formation of lexicosemantic representations. To achieve this, I use a combination of electroencephalography (EEG), eye-tracking, pupillometry, and behavioral measures to examine the neural, psychophysiological, and behavioral correlates of L2 word learning across diverse learning contexts. I use virtual reality to create interactive, immersive social environments that strike a balance between ecological validity and experimental control.
