“Tara is spiritually grounded. They tends to their own spiritual needs and practices. And over the last few years, prayer has become another of their superpowers. This year they also became a popular officiant for graveside services for local non-religiously affiliated people – a testament to their capacity to be grounded, pastoral and prayerful in ways that meet the needs of those they serves.” – Rev. Many milestones make up a human life.
From baby blessings and communion to graveside memorials, a carefully and lovingly facilitated ritual offers people the gift of connection- with each other, with God, and with parts of themselves words alone cannot touch. Rites of passage bear witness to the transformation of an individual or community, offer healing and comfort, and at times stir in us a healthy unrest. Leadership in a rite of passage ritual is a gift of ministry. I aim to hold space and bear witness with tenderness and love, offer enough structure so that people feel safe, and then make room for the Holy to enter.
