Currently, I'm living out my call as the associate rector of congregational development and pastoral care at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Atlanta. This role is a great source of joy for me as I serve as priest, pastor, preacher, teacher, storyteller, and parish life coordinator.
In addition to parish ministry, I am an award-winning journalist. I hold advanced degrees from Yale University and Berkley Divinity School at Yale. The focus of my ministry is congregational development, pastoral care, stewardship, liturgy, preaching, agrarian ministries, and ministries that move us prayerfully and courageously toward reconciliation with each other and with God. I've had the opportunity to serve on diocesan and national church-wide ministries as well as in ecumenical and interfaith efforts. Before becoming a priest, I was an executive director at Trinity Church Wall Street (now Trinity Church NYC) for six years, where I led the revitalization of its 55-acre retreat center in rural Connecticut and developed programs reconnecting people to God’s creation with a working farm and a sanctuary for rescued donkeys. A great blessing has been the opportunity to travel while preaching and teaching on a variety of topics from India to Ghana.
I am an Episcopal priest, writer, teacher, retreat leader, beekeeper, backpacker, music lover, and avid reader. I have been married to Heidi Rose for 32 years, and we have two grown daughters, who are the lights of our life together!
