Christian Speaker I Christian Events Coverage
Marvic D. Vacunawa, founder of Revive the Global, grew up in a Catholic family. She was born with bilateral cleft lip and palate and was also born with some fingers on her hands and feet incomplete. From an early age, she experienced challenges that were not always easy for others to understand.
As a child, Marvic attended Sunday School, where she was first introduced to stories about God and faith. However, in 2004, she gradually stopped attending church and became inactive in her faith.
In 2010, Marvic had an opportunity to encounter Jesus again in a more personal way. On July 3, 2010, she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior.
From that moment, a new chapter of her faith journey began.
In 2013, Marvic began searching for the calling God might have for her life. She tried serving as a Sunday School teacher and became active in a cell group. On October 23, 2013, she was baptized as a public expression of her faith in Christ.
However, her journey was not always consistent. There was another season when she became distant from church and was no longer active.
In 2015, Marvic returned to church.
This time, she found an opportunity to use her interest and skills in photography as a way of serving. She became a photographer for various church events and activities, including gatherings such as Survival Camp, and other ministry events. But during survival camp she's not a photographer that time.
Through photography, she learned not only to capture images but also to document stories of faith, service, and the lives of people within the church community.
Remaining consistent in her walk with God was not always easy for Marvic. Coming from a non-Christian family, there were seasons when she struggled to remain consistent in her faith. There were also times when she was not seen regularly in church.
Yet her desire to serve did not completely disappear.
Whenever opportunities came, she continued to serve in different places and in different ways.
From 2024 to the present, Marvic has become more active in using her skills and experience for ministry. Her areas of service include Christian event coverage, Sunday service documentation, and youth ministry.
For Marvic, however, ministry does not only happen inside the church.
Outside the church, even within her local community, she has also found opportunities to share God's Word with children. Some of the children she teaches and spends time with call her “Ninang.”
To Marvic, these children are not simply children she happens to meet. They have become part of her ministry—children she teaches, listens to, encourages, and shares God's Word with.
Marvic's life is not the story of someone who has had a perfect journey of faith.
It is the story of someone who has fallen, stepped away, returned, searched for direction, and continued learning what it means to follow God.
From a child attending Sunday School, to encountering Jesus again in 2010; from trying to serve and teach in 2013, to using photography and videography as a way of serving; and from serving within the church to sharing God's Word beyond its walls—each season has become part of the journey that eventually contributed to the vision of Revive the Global.
Marvic does not want her limitations to be the center of his story. Instead, she sees her journey as a reminder that despite the challenges she has faced, God continues to give her opportunities to learn, serve, and become a blessing to others.
Revive the Global is part of that continuing journey—a life still being shaped by God and a ministry committed to pointing people toward Jesus.
