NHSDA Overview
- What is NHSDA?
- A program by the National Dance Education Organization (NDEO).
- Recognizes students for artistic merit, leadership, and academic achievement.
- Importance of NHSDA
- Awards students for dedication to dance, similar to academic honors.
- Provides credibility and recognition for commitment and hard work.
- Allows students to track and prove their involvement in the dance community.
- Joining NHSDA
- Create NHSDA account for the student with email.
- Earn and track points through the NHSDA Point System.
- Exhibit leadership, good behavior, motivation, and teamwork.
- Maintain an overall GPA of 3.5
- Handbooks are available for detailed guidelines.
- Induction is permanent, but members may be barred for unacceptable behavior.
- Junior Chapter (6th-8th grade): 15 points needed.
- Secondary Chapter (9th-12th grade): 30 points needed.
- Cost
- $8 induction fee.
- Ceremony costs: $25-$50 per student.

Apply for Induction
-Create NHSDA account for student.
- Link Account to ReVita Dance Studio.
- Supply ReVita Dance Studio with Point Tracker Worksheets, Transcripts, and optional essays/supporting documents.

Junior Chapter Grades: 6th-8th
Requirements:
- 15 points.
- Above average character.
- 3.5 overall GPA.
Process:
- Demonstrate good behavior, leadership, motivation, and class presence.
- Provide proof of 3.5 GPA.
- Earn points through the NHSDA National Induction Point Rubric (participation, character, GPA).
- Points must be tracked by students and submitted for confirmation.
- 10 points must be earned through Revita activities; 5 points may be earned through off-site activities.
- 5 points from the Junior Chapter carry over to Secondary Chapter requirements.
- Create NHSDA account and apply for induction at www.nhsda-ndeo.org

Secondary Chapter: Grades 9th-12th
Requirements:
- 30 points. Up to 5 points may carry over from the Junior Chapter.
- Above average character.
- 3.5 overall GPA.
Process:
- Demonstrate good behavior, leadership, motivation, and class presence.
- Provide proof of 3.5 GPA.
- Earn points through the NHSDA National Induction Point Rubric (participation, character, GPA).
- Points must be tracked by students and submitted for confirmation.
- 20 points must be earned through Revita activities; 10 points may be earned through off-site activities.

NDEO/NHSDA Award Program:
- Students in 11th or 12th grade inducted into NHSDA may apply for the NDEO Artistic Merit, Leadership, and Academic Achievement Award.
