B. Jean Mandernach, PhD is Executive Director of the Center for Innovation in Research and Teaching at Grand Canyon University; active presenter and consultant in the field of online education and serves on various editorial boards including the Journal of Educators Online, eLearn Magazine, InSight: A Journal of Scholarly Teaching, and Journal of Instructional Research. In addition to authoring numerous journal articles and chapters, Jean served as co-editor on the book, Handbook of Research on Inclusive Development for Remote Adjunct Faculty in Higher Education, and co-authored the book, Evaluating Online Teaching: Implementing Best Practices.

Yan Xu, Ph.D., PMP., is eSpelman Online Program Director, Online Undergraduate Program Director, and Associate Professor of History at Spelman College. A published historian and certified PMP® Professional, Yan created the online Project Management Certificate Program for eSpelman. She is a co-founder of the community of practice HBCU Digital Leadership Network. Yan currently serves as the Vice President of Professional Development at the Project Management Institute (PMI) Silver Spring Chapter and is completing her Ed. D. in Educational Leadership.

Dawn M. Ford, PhD is faculty with the Master of Public Health Program at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. She also serves as UTC Employee Wellness Coordinator after two years as Chief Epidemiologist during campus COVID-19 response. She was formerly the Assistant Provost of Teaching and Learning and Executive Director of the Walker Center of Teaching and Learning at UTC. Dr. Ford is a Quality Matters Master Reviewer and serves on the editorial review board of the journal The Scholarly Teacher. She serves as Chair of the Commission on the Status of Women at UTC and is President-Elect of the Tennessee Public Health Association. She teaches courses in leadership, epidemiology, environmental health, and sustainability.

Tianhong Shi, Ph.D., is Senior Instructional Designer, Oregon State University Ecampus. She was college English teacher before moving to the United States. She has been working as instructional designer for online learning in higher education since 2006. She is passionate about learner-centered design, UDL, neuroeducation, and active learning. She is a published practitioner, especially in the area of instructional design, pedagogy, and UDL.
