# Privacy Policy for Reverse Sing
**Last updated: 13th Aug 2026**
Reverse Sing is made by Boonwiz ("we", "us"). This policy explains what happens
to your information when you use the Reverse Sing mobile app.
---
## The short version
Your videos, photos and recordings never leave your phone. All the processing — reversing audio,
rewinding video, adding effects — happens on your device. We have no servers, no accounts, and
no way to see anything you make.
The one exception is advertising. Reverse Sing shows ads supplied by Google AdMob, and Google
collects some information about your device to do that. That is the only data flow out of the
app, and it is described in full below.
---
## What stays on your device
Everything you create, and everything the app remembers about you:
- **Videos, photos and voice recordings** you record or select
- **Finished clips** the app renders, kept in the app's private storage so the in-app gallery
works offline
- **Backwards challenges** you create, including the audio for them
- **App preferences** — your chosen language, whether you have seen the intro
- **Simple counters** — how many clips you have made, saved and shared
None of this is transmitted anywhere. It is stored only on your device, and it is deleted when
you uninstall the app.
If you tap **Save**, a clip is copied into your phone's own photo gallery, where it is subject to
your device settings and any backup service you have enabled (for example Google Photos). That
copy is under your control, not ours.
---
## What we collect
**Nothing.** We do not operate servers, we do not ask you to create an account, and we do not
collect, receive or store any personal information about you.
We do not use analytics, crash reporting, or tracking of any kind.
---
## Advertising
Reverse Sing is free and supported by advertising through **Google AdMob**.
To serve ads, Google may collect and process:
- Your device's **advertising ID**
- Your **IP address** and approximate location derived from it
- **Device and app information**, such as device model, operating system version, language and
the app you are using
- **Ad interaction data**, such as which ads were shown and whether you tapped them
Google uses this to select ads, limit how often you see the same ad, measure performance and
detect fraud. We do not receive this information — we only see aggregate reports such as total
ad views and earnings, which do not identify anyone.
Google's own policies explain their handling in detail:
- Google Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
- How Google uses information from partner sites and apps:
https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites
- Google advertising technologies: https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads
### Your advertising choices
- **Personalised ads.** If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or
Switzerland, the app asks for your consent before showing personalised ads, using Google's
consent management platform. You can change your answer at any time from the Privacy & data
section in the app's Settings. If consent cannot be obtained for any reason, the app requests
non-personalised ads.
- **Reset or delete your advertising ID.** On Android, open **Settings → Privacy → Ads**. You can
reset the ID or delete it entirely, which stops it being used to personalise ads.
- Non-personalised ads still use your IP address and general device information to serve and
measure ads, but are not based on a profile of your past behaviour.
---
## Permissions the app asks for
| Permission | Why |
|---|---|
| **Camera** | To record video when you choose the selfie mode. Only active while you are on the camera screen |
| **Microphone** | To record your voice, which is the whole point of the app |
| **Photos and videos** | To let you pick a clip or photo to reverse, and to save finished clips to your gallery |
| **Internet** | Used only to load ads. The app does not upload your media |
| **Vibration** | Small haptic feedback when you tap controls |
You can refuse or revoke any of these in your device settings. Refusing camera or microphone
access means the recording features will not work, but the rest of the app continues to function.
---
## Children
Reverse Sing is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information
from them. Ads shown in the app are restricted to a general-audience content rating.
If you believe a child has provided information through the app, please contact us at the address
below and we will address it.
---
## Your rights
Because we do not collect or hold any personal information, there is no account to access,
correct or delete, and no data for us to export. Deleting the app removes everything it stored on
your device.
For the information Google collects for advertising, your rights are exercised through Google. See
the links in the Advertising section, and use the advertising ID controls in your device settings.
**If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom**, the legal basis for
personalised advertising is your consent, which you give or refuse through the prompt shown in the
app and can change at any time. Non-personalised advertising relies on legitimate interests in
funding a free app.
**If you are a California resident**, we do not sell or share personal information, because we do
not collect any. Google's handling of advertising data is described in its own policy.
---
## Data retention
We retain nothing, because we receive nothing. Content stored by the app on your device stays
there until you delete it or uninstall the app.
Google's retention of advertising data is governed by Google's policies.
---
## Changes to this policy
If the app changes in a way that affects this policy — for example if we add a subscription, an
analytics tool, or another ad network — we will update this page and change the date at the top.
Significant changes will be announced in the app.
