CARE (Connection, Awareness, Resilience & Education) is a non-profit organization which was formed in the 1981-82 school year to provide information and support to our community (parents, students, teachers, and other community members) regarding drug and alcohol prevention.
Over the years, CARE has expanded its efforts to deal with the ever-increasing negative influences that our children face today and to address potential at-risk behaviors of our youth. CARE now additionally supports activities which encourage positive self-esteem and healthy life choices.
CARE sponsors and supports numerous educational programs, special events and projects. We bring individuals, some of them nationally recognized, to speak about the aforementioned topics to the Revere School District and community. Over the years, we have provided educational opportunities on a variety of subjects such as drugs, alcohol, tobacco/vaping, healthy choices regarding sex, character development, dangers to our children on the internet and through social media, bullying, dating and teen violence, suicide prevention, mental health issues, discipline and parenting, addictive behaviors, as well as acceptance and diversity.
At the general meetings of CARE, which are held four times during the school year, we share information regarding the issues our students, parents, administrators, teachers, and community are dealing with as well as discuss how Revere Community CARE can provide assistance and join forces with other organizations to help make the community a safer environment for all.
