The Revelstoke Roller Derby Association (RRD) is a non-profit organization committed to promoting and developing the sport of roller derby in Revelstoke. We are seeking a skilled and motivated Executive Administrative Assistant to support our Board of Directors and help strengthen the operations, visibility, and impact of our association.
Collaborate closely with the Board of Directors to advance the mission and goals of the association.
Provide administrative support including record keeping, scheduling, organizing digital files, and managing correspondence.
Support day‑to‑day operations to ensure smooth functioning of the association, coordinating with board members and volunteers as needed.
Submit monthly invoices with a detailed statement of work to the President or Vice-President.
a. Grant Applications
Identify potential funding opportunities in collaboration with the Board.
Prepare, write, and submit grant applications.
Maintain tracking systems for grant requirements, deadlines, and reporting.
Ensure all reporting obligations for successful grants are completed accurately and on time.
b. Website & Social Media Management
Maintain and update the RRD website to ensure accuracy, accessibility, and user-friendly navigation.
Manage social media channels to promote events, engage the community, and share relevant updates.
Curate content that reflects RRD’s mission, values, and brand.
c. Communications
Serve as the primary point of contact for external inquiries, fostering positive relationships with partners, sponsors, and community members.
Develop and distribute newsletters to members and stakeholders.
Support consistent, professional communication across all platforms.
d. Events & Program Support
Assist the Board of Directors in planning and executing special events, programs, and initiatives.
Support logistics, communication, and coordination with volunteers and participants.
e. Additional Association Support (as time and budget allow)
Assist the Board in developing Policies and Procedures.
Support the creation of committee and board Terms of Reference and board position descriptions.
Develop the “Let Us Skate Here” advocacy package, including insurance information and venue documentation.
Provide administrative support for summer camps, including registration, poster creation (using the brand guide), outreach to schools/daycares, and recommendations for programming.
Conduct marketing research by reviewing promotional strategies used by other roller derby teams and implementing similar initiatives (e.g., skater profiles, year‑end reports).
This contract position is anticipated to run year‑round, with varying weekly hours depending on the season.
RRD is a non-profit organization and seeks proposals that balance professional value with community-minded affordability.
The budgeted rate is $28/hour, with an estimated workload of:
3-4 hours per week from January to March
3-6 hours per week from April - July
1-2 hours per week from August to December
more hours may be required leading up the events.
