Rachel Crumble, author of Sister Sorrow, is a retired teacher that has been writing since she was 11. Rachel’s inspiration to write stems from her aspiration to record, decode, and redeem human experiences, whether broken or beautiful. Her favorite things in life are: her relationship with her Creator, her husband, and her children and grandchildren. She enjoys spending time in the natural world, forming one-on-one friendships, and exploring diverse cultures.

Synopsis: "Sister Sorrow traces a lifetime of decoding a childhood with a beautiful, artistic, schizophrenic mom, experiencing otherness through international travel, becoming a Yankee transplant to the South, marriage as a white woman in 1981 to a Black man and raising biracial children in Chattanooga, TN in the 80's and 90's. It explores cycles of depression and grief over her mother's suicide, and how, although recursive, grief can also lead to wisdom, and a deepening capacity for joy. Sister Sorrow embraces the awkward and the ridiculous as essential aspects of our humanity."

Cynthia Young, author of Migration, is a writer that has been doing so since she was 11 years old. Cynthia is inspired to write to keep the memories of her family and current events alive. Her favorite things in life are her Christian faith, her husband, Bruce, and her family of 32 kids, in-laws, and grandkids.

Synopsis: "Migration tells the story of a family's migration from Africa to America told through prose and poems." For this chapbook she was named the finalist in this category for the Georgia Author of the Year Award, 2019. Her work has been featured in journals and anthologies, including Poetry South, Catapula: a magazine of southern perspectives, Sixfold, and in the forthcoming Waves: A Confluence of Women's Voices.
