"We did not focus our minds on our navels or we would have missed the rainbow in the sky. We pursued that rainbow and that was how together we built today’s Singapore.
The sky has turned brighter. There is a glorious rainbow that beckons those with the spirit of adventure. And there are rich findings at the end of that rainbow.
To the young and the not too old, I say, look at the horizon, find that rainbow, go ride it.
Not all will be rich; quite a few will find a vein of gold; but all who pursue that rainbow will have a joyous and exhilarating ride and some profit."
– Mr. Lee Kuan Yew
In life, there are rare moments when we are called to step beyond the familiar and embrace the extraordinary—a chance to pursue our own rainbows. Inspired by Mr. Lee Kuan Yew's powerful words, this festival celebrates the spirit of overseas Singaporeans who have dared to seek their rainbows. These are individuals who have ventured into the unknown, driven not solely by the promise of a pot of gold at the end but by the joy, growth, and exhilaration found in the ride itself.
This festival, which is an online portal supported by Singapore Global Network, exists to honor their stories—the young and the not-so-old (at heart) — who have embarked on their unique adventures abroad. Whether pursuing passions, living lives they deem fulfilling, or carving out paths of joy, they embody the qualities of courage, creativity, and resilience. Their rainbow rides are rich with insights about savoring the journey, staying inspired through its ups and downs, and discovering hidden veins of gold along the way.
By showcasing these remarkable experiences, "Unique Wisdom Festival – Riding the Rainbow" aims to inspire others who are contemplating their own overseas journeys. It offers a space for collective learning and reflection, sharing practical wisdom and fresh perspectives on how to make the adventure of life abroad not just meaningful but profoundly joyous.
It is scheduled to be launched on July 15 to September 30, 2025 to celebrate our Singapore's 60th Birthday.
