ANSI 4203 - Range and Pasture Utilization
Concepts of the livestock / forage interface and application for grazing management.
Grazing behavior, stocking rates, supplementation, management, etc.
Pre-req: Applied Animal Nutrition and Principles of Range Management recommended.
Offered in spring semester, available for graduate credit. Co-taught with Dr. Laura Goodman.
ANSI 4633 - Stocker and Feedlot Cattle Mgmt
Concepts of applied beef stocker and feedlot systems.
Nutrition, animal health, husbandry, budgets, risk management, etc.
Pre-req: Applied Animal Nutrition (required).
Offered in spring semester, available for graduate credit. Co-taught with Dr. Blake Wilson.
ANSI 4973 - Rangeland Resources Planning
Applied rangeland and ranch planning. Students will work in teams to develop an actual management plan for a real client.
Integrate all previous knowledge in animal, range, and wildlife science. Field trips required.
Pre-req: for seniors in NREM - Range Management and ANSI - Ranch Operations.
Offered in spring semester. Limited to 15 students. Co-taught with Dr. Laura Goodman.
ANSI 5733 - Advanced Ruminant Nutrition
Advanced applied nutrition focusing on beef grazing and finishing systems.
Energetics, formulation, performance prediction, 2016 NRBC, problem solving, etc.
Offered for graduate students fall of odd years.

ANSI 5100 - Intro to Data Science in Animal Science (Under development)
Introduction to data management, visualization, analysis and reporting using R software.
Concepts of tidy data, reproducibility, simulation and effective visualization.
Offered for graduate students in summer session.
