plants play a vital role in the rituals of our daily life.
they reconnect us around a dinner table, revive our homes, and offer healing when we are unwell.
my love of plants began with my dad. he had what people called a ‘green thumb’. as my first teacher he connected me to the land.
growing up he taught me the gifts of Caribbean plants and those he nurtured in our yard. i watched him care for the plants that filled our home—preparing bush teas, tending the soil, and infusing our meals with love and healing.
as an adult, my own experiences with womb health deepened my relationship with plant medicine. i turned to holistic modalities, ancestral knowledge, and spiritual practices to fill the gaps left by biomedical models of care. my journey continues to be one of remembering, reclaiming, and honoring the wisdom that lives in plants—and in my body.
returnapothecary is a love letter to my father, a remembrance of the medicines carried through bloodline and bone, and a sacred invitation to return—to the wisdom of the plants, the whispers of the ancestors, and the healing that lives in the earth.
