Privacy Policy for TETRED and PIPED
Privacy Policy for TETRED and PIPED
This Privacy Policy explains what information TETRED / PIPED ("we", "our", or "the App") may collect, how we use it, how it may be shared, and how you can request deletion of your data. This policy applies to TETRED / PIPED when used on Meta (Oculus/Quest) devices and related platform features (for example, leaderboards and achievements).
We access a small set of account information provided by the Meta/Oculus platform so the game can display your name, show achievements, and submit/view leaderboard scores.
We do not build user profiles for advertising, we do not sell your data, and we do not use data for behavioral advertising.
We do not retain personally identifying data on our external servers except where explicitly stated below — most profile information is used only on the device or by Meta’s platform services (leaderboards/achievements).
Below is a clear list of the specific data items the App accesses through the Meta/Oculus Platform SDK and what we use each item for.
Platform User ID (USER_ID)
What it is: A unique identifier supplied by the Meta/Oculus platform that represents the currently logged-in user.
Why we access it: To identify the current player for achievements and to submit and retrieve scores from Meta leaderboards.
Where it is stored: We only use this ID locally on the VR device for session operations; when a score is submitted to the Meta leaderboards it is transmitted to Meta’s services and stored by Meta. We do not maintain a separate external database of Platform User IDs for identification or profiling purposes.
User profile fields (USER_PROFILE) — e.g., display name and avatar (if available)
What it is: Public profile information returned by the platform SDK such as your display name and profile avatar URL (if requested by the App).
Why we access it: To display your display name (and optionally avatar) together with local high scores and ranking inside the App so you and other players can see names on leaderboards and achievement lists.
Where it is stored: Display name and avatar are used in-app and may be cached locally on your device for performance. We do not copy or persist these fields on our external servers except as necessary to submit scores to Meta leaderboards (Meta is the system that retains leaderboard entries).
Age information (USER_AGE / age range)
What it is: An age indicator or age range provided by the Meta platform (if available for the user account).
Why we access it: Only to comply with platform age-related restrictions or content gating if our app requires it. We do not use age information for profiling, advertising, or other unrelated purposes.
Where it is stored: Not stored externally by us. If used, it is used transiently during runtime to enforce any age-related checks.
Local game data (e.g., local high score)
What it is: Scores, progress or settings saved locally on your device by the App.
Why we access it: To show your local high score and optionally to submit that score to Meta leaderboards.
Where it is stored: Stored locally on your device. Only when the App submits scores to Meta leaderboards will that score be transmitted to Meta’s services and stored there.
We use the platform-provided information only for the following purposes:
Displaying your in-game display name (and avatar) alongside your local high score and ranking.
Submitting and retrieving scores and achievements to/from Meta leaderboards and achievements systems so leaderboards and achievements function correctly.
Enforcing age-based restrictions if required by the App or platform.
Ensuring compatibility with supported devices and localization (e.g., language selection) where the platform-provided information helps.
We do not use any of this information to:
Create advertising profiles or target you with behavioral advertising.
Sell or rent your personal data to third parties.
Meta (Oculus / Horizon / Graph API): When you participate in leaderboards or achievements, your Platform User ID and submitted score are transmitted to and stored by Meta’s leaderboards/achievements services. Those leaderboard entries are managed by Meta and are subject to Meta’s policies and retention practices.
Other third parties: We do not share your profile or user ID with advertising or analytics vendors for behavioral advertising. If we integrate any third-party services in the future that require user data, we will update this policy and provide a clear mechanism to opt out where required by the platform.
We do not maintain an external database of personal user profile data solely for identification or advertising.
Local data (scores, settings, optional cached display name/avatar) is stored on the device and deleted when you uninstall the App or when you request deletion (see below).
Data transmitted to Meta (for leaderboards/achievements) is stored and retained by Meta according to Meta’s policies — we do not control Meta’s retention schedule.
We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data under our control. For any data transmitted to third-party services, we rely on those platforms’ security measures to protect that data in transit and at rest.
If you want us to remove any data that we directly hold for your account (for example, cached display name or local saved data), or if you want assistance addressing leaderboard/achievement data that exists on Meta’s systems, follow the steps below.
Developer deletion / correction request (what we can do):
Send an email to retroXRealm@gmail.com with the subject "PIPED — Data Deletion Request" or "PIPED — Data Access Request" or "TETRED — Data Deletion Request" or "TETRED — Data Access Request".
In your message include whichever of the following you can provide: your display name as shown in the App, the Platform User ID (if you have it), and an approximate date/time when you used the App.
We will acknowledge your request within 5 business days and will remove any data we directly control (for example: clear cached local data associated with your account and uninstall-related instructions).
Meta / Platform data (what Meta controls):
Some data (for example, scores and leaderboard entries) are held by Meta’s leaderboards and achievements systems. If you want leaderboard or federated account data removed from Meta’s servers, you may:
Delete your Meta account or use Meta’s account controls (deactivation/deletion) which will remove associated platform data under Meta’s policies; or
Contact Meta support directly and request removal of leaderboard or federated user data. We can assist by providing details to Meta when you submit a formal request to us (see contact email above).
Meta provides platform APIs and developer-facing deletion endpoints (used by developers and Meta) to remove federated user entries and leaderboard entries. In cases where we have the ability and your authorization, we will call those endpoints to delete data on Meta’s systems.
If you are unsure which route to take, email retroXRealm@gmail.com and we will advise and help coordinate with Meta as appropriate.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under applicable age limits. If you believe a child has provided personal information through our App, please contact us at retroXRealm@gmail.com and we will take steps to delete that information.
We may update this policy from time to time (for example to remain compliant with platform requirements). The "Last updated" date at the top of this document will reflect the effective date of changes. If we make material changes, we will provide notice by updating the policy and indicating the change date.
