WHAT IS RETROPOLIS ?

Retropolis is the collection of aspiring classic arcade game enthusiast Nicholas Arone, who was born and raised in Las Vegas. It all started with an Atari 2600 that his father brought him from his old house when he was only 6 years old. He loved this console, and a year later found an original Atari Dig Dug arcade cabinet, fully working for only $650. This machine gave Nicholas his dream and life goal; to open his very own arcade. Not very many games were added to the collection; only about 4 to 5 per year, until 2020, when the hellfest that was COVID-19 rocked the world and locals in the Las Vegas area had to sell off their collection to fill their houses with toilet paper and hand sanitizer. The number of cabinets being acquired was significantly higher, and they would get so many cabinets they had to fill up a storage unit... multiple times, but you can't open a Las Vegas premier classic arcade without a large collection of arcade games. But they decided that despite the motto, Retropolis should have the other top source of electronic stimulation of the 80s-90s era... consoles. So why not have some of the classic video game consoles to go with the arcade games as well? The NES, SNES, Atari 2600/7800, Genesis, TurboGrafx 16, N64, PS1, and many others are out on playable displays. He hopes that others can show future generations the true "Golden Age" of video gaming.
