Privacy Policy

RetroMania is developed by an independent developer. This policy explains what data the app accesses, stores, and shares.
Data We Do Not Collect
- No personal information is collected, transmitted, or stored on any external server.
- No analytics, crash reporting, or tracking SDKs are included.
- No advertising networks are integrated.
Data Stored Locally on Your Device
- Settings and preferences — stored on your device only.
- Save states — game progress files stored in the app's private storage.
- OAuth tokens — if you connect Dropbox for cloud sync, access and refresh tokens are stored locally on your device to maintain the connection. These are never sent to any server other than Dropbox's own API.
Cloud Sync (Dropbox)
The app offers optional cloud sync via Dropbox. If you choose to enable it:
- The app requests access only to its own app folder on your Dropbox account.
- Save states, save batteries (.sav files), and ROM files you've imported are uploaded to or downloaded from the app's own folder on your Dropbox.
- No other files on your Dropbox are read, modified, or deleted.
- You can disconnect Dropbox at any time from the app's settings, which revokes access and deletes stored tokens.

Local Backup Folder (optional)
The app offers an optional local backup folder, which you choose via
your device's file picker. Save files are mirrored to that folder after
each save so they survive reinstalling the app. The folder lives where
you placed it (your device storage, SD card, or a synced cloud folder
like Drive) — the app accesses only that folder and nothing else.
Permissions
- Internet — required for Dropbox sync and downloading emulation cores.
- Storage / Media — required to access ROM files you select from your device.
- Vibration — used for haptic feedback on virtual controls.
- Microphone — used only during NDS emulation for games that require microphone input (e.g., Nintendogs). Audio is processed locally and never recorded or transmitted.
Children's Privacy
The app does not knowingly collect any data from children or any other users. No account creation is required.
Changes to This Policy
If this policy is updated, the new version will be posted at this URL with an updated effective date.
Your data, your control
RetroMania does not maintain user accounts or servers. All data the app handles lives on your device or in your own cloud accounts, and you can remove it at any time:
• Save states, preferences, button layouts, cached cover art, total
play time: remove the app, or go to Android Settings → Apps →
RetroMania → Storage → Clear Data. Everything is wiped from your
device.
• Dropbox sync: open Settings → Cloud Sync → Disconnect inside the
app. This deletes the OAuth tokens stored on your device. The save
files that were synced remain in your own Dropbox account at
/Apps/Retromaniadroid/, where you control them directly and can
delete them at any time.
• Local Backup folder: open Settings → Local Backup → Clear inside
the app. This revokes the app's access to the folder you chose. The
backed-up files remain in that folder, where you control them
directly and can delete them at any time.
