Painting
This vibrant yellow painting blends California tile textures, flowers, and ocean waves inspired by travel through Oceanside. The change in scenery opened new ways of seeing nature and culture, celebrating color, movement, and the unique spirit of the West Coast. Made in the car while traveling across the country, the work reflects a love for creating art on the road and capturing moments that bring happiness and excitement. From the sunlit tiles of California to the rolling waves, bright flowers, and golden light, each brushstroke holds the energy of discovery and the joy of exploring new places. This painting shows what could be made if there were no day-to-day fears, only freedom and the beauty of being alive in the moment.
"Consume" I have found that the scariest things in our lives are not necessarily the completely inhuman TV monsters, but the pieces of reality we can find in them.
Going with the theme, I wanted to create a peace that expressed how I currently feel in our world, and what I wish I was capable of. In a sense, I feel like a statue that wants to break apart, be more creative and more true to myself. In a world without fear, I would attempt to be the version of myself that isn't shy or anxious, and is instead capable of using her full creative potential to her highest abilities.
I have spent most of my life very anxious, addicted and sad. I have never been good at expressing myself any other way besides artistically. I use my art to try to capture and communicate a feeling I can’t seem to express in any other way. I spend most of my days completely alone because of social anxieties and drawing is my way of trying to be productive and still contribute to the world. When people appreciate my artwork it makes me feel like I still exist.
This is a piece of work that I created that reflects not being fearful and breaking through the problems in your head that we all as humans deal with all the time in life.
