- Detailed Storage Analysis: Get a clear, visual breakdown of your phone’s storage to manage your device storage with confidence.
- Secure File Locker: Protect your privacy with a password by locking photos, videos, and documents in a secure vault.
This Policy is a legally binding agreement. By downloading, installing, or using our Services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to the data practices described here in.
2. OUR PRIVACY COMMITMENT

- On-Device Processing: Most app operations, including file scanning, recovery, and file locking, are performed 100% locally on your device.
- Ephemeral Processing for AI Enhancement: For our AI Image Enhancer feature, your selected image is transmitted to our servers for the sole purpose of real-time processing. This process is designed with zero long-term retention; the data exists on our servers only for the seconds it takes to generate the enhanced image.
- No Collection of Personal Files: We state unequivocally that ReTore does not collect, store, upload, or share any of your personal files for any purpose. Your data remains private and under your control.
- Data Minimization: We are committed to collecting only the absolute minimum data necessary for the App to function and improve, primarily for technical support and advertising purposes. We never access the content of your files for any other reason.
- Transparency: We are committed to being open and clear about how our App works and why it requires certain permissions and processes to perform its functions.
3. DATA WE COLLECT AND PROCESS
To provide and improve our Services, we collect a limited amount of technical data.
a. Data We DO NOT Collect
To be perfectly clear, we never collect, transmit, or store:
- Any photos, videos, audio files, or documents on your device (whether deleted or active).
- Any files you choose to recover within the App.
- Any personal data generated from the AI Image Enhancer.
b. Technical & Usage Data (Collected Automatically for Service Operation and Advertising)
To ensure our App functions correctly, to resolve technical issues, and to support our advertising-based model, we automatically collect certain non-personal technical data.

- Application and Advertising Identifiers: Your device's advertising identifier (e.g., Google Advertising ID on Android) and the App's version.

4. OUR USE OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE (AI)
- AI Functionality: The purpose of our AI is the "AI Image Enhancer" feature, which revitalizes your recovered photos. This feature requires server-side processing to perform the complex enhancement task.
- Zero Long-Term Retention by Design: We state unequivocally that your source images are processed ephemerally.
- Immediate Deletion from Servers: The source image is permanently and irrevocably deleted from our server's memory the instant the AI-generated artwork is successfully sent back to your device.
- Strictly Temporary Processing: The retention period is measured in seconds and is limited strictly to the duration of the active processing task. Your images are not stored, cached, logged, or used for any other purpose, including training our AI models.

This permission is used for data recovery features exclusively and is essential for the app to locate and recover your lost files effectively.
com.android.vending.BILLING: Enables in-app billing for purchasing items within the app.
com.recover.photos.files.recoveryapp.DYNAMIC_RECEIVER_NOT_EXPORTED_PERMISSION: Default app permission to ensure secure communication within the app's components.
android.permission.POST_NOTIFICATIONS: To send you occasional notifications to let you know when a recovery or scan is complete. This permission is optional.
android.permission.ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE: To check if your device is connected to the internet before trying to display advertisements.
android.permission.ACCESS_ADSERVICES_ATTRIBUTION: For Advertising, to help measure the effectiveness of ad campaigns.
android.permission.WAKE_LOCK: Allows the app to keep the device's screen on during a long file recovery or scanning process to prevent it from being interrupted.
com.google.android.gms.permission.AD_ID: Used to access your device's unique, user-resettable advertising identifier. This helps our partners show you ads that are more likely to be relevant to you.

com.google.android.c2dm.permission.RECEIVE: Default permissions in Android app.
com.samsung.android.mapsagent.permission.READ_APP_INFO: Automatically added by the AppsFlyer SDK, used for install attribution and ad performance measurement. It allows AppsFlyer to read basic app info on Samsung devices for accurate attribution. It is not used to access personal or sensitive data.
com.huawei.appmarket.service.commondata.permission.GET_COMMON_DATA: Automatically added by HMS Core (Huawei Mobile Services) components integrated into our app to support analytics/ads functionality on Huawei devices. It allows the SDK to retrieve basic common app data required to operate. It is not used to access personal or sensitive data.
android.permission.USE_FULL_SCREEN_INTENT: Our app includes a core 'Data-Loss Prevention Alert' feature, used across our Recover Photos, Recover Videos, Recover Documents, Recover Audio, and Secret Space (Protected Files) tools. This feature addresses two time-sensitive risks central to the app's core function: (1) files identified during a recovery scan may be permanently overwritten by new data written to storage at any moment, making their recovery window unpredictable and finite; and (2) files stored in Secret Space may be subject to a scheduled retention policy, after which they are automatically and irreversibly removed. In both cases, the app must trigger a full-screen notification to instantly alert the user on their lock screen, even when the device is idle or locked, so the user has a fair opportunity to act before the data is permanently lost. Since missing these alerts can result in permanent, irreversible loss of the user's personal files, a standard low-priority notification is insufficient. The USE_FULL_SCREEN_INTENT permission is strictly limited to these critical, time-sensitive data-loss alerts.
android.permission.RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED: To restore your scheduled reminders and background tasks after your device restarts, so notifications continue working without you needing to reopen the app.
8. DATA SECURITY AND RETENTION
- Security: As all your personal files are processed on your device, you are in control of their security. For files placed in our Secure File Locker, they are encrypted and protected by the password you set. We implement appropriate technical measures to protect the anonymous Technical & Usage Data we collect.
- Retention:
- User-Provided Content (Images & Files): This data is never retained on our servers. It is processed and stored only on your local device.
- Technical & Usage Data: This anonymous data is typically retained for a limited period necessary for analytics and advertising purposes, after which it is deleted or anonymized.
9. INTERNATIONAL DATA TRANSFERS
Your anonymous Technical & Usage Data may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in jurisdictions outside your country of residence (such as the United States), where our third-party analytics and advertising partners operate.
10. YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS AND CHOICES
You have rights concerning your Personal Data, subject to limitations provided by law.
- Opt-Out of Personalized Advertising: You can limit ad tracking by resetting your device's advertising identifier through your device settings (e.g., On Android: Settings > Privacy > Ads).
- Formal Rights Requests: Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to Access, Rectify, or Erase the Personal Data we hold about you. Because we do not store your personal files, erasure requests will primarily apply to the Technical & Usage Data associated with you.
11. JURISDICTION-SPECIFIC PROVISIONS
- For Residents of the European Economic Area (EEA), UK, and Switzerland (under GDPR): You have the rights detailed in Section 10, as well as the right to data portability and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
- For Residents of California (under CCPA/CPRA): You have the right to know what personal information is collected and to delete it. Our use of third-party advertising SDKs may be considered "sharing." You can exercise your right to opt-out by managing your device's advertising ID.
12. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY
These Services are not directed to anyone under the age of 13 (or 16 in the EEA/UK). We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children.
13. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will provide notice through the App or by other means to allow you to review the changes before they become effective.
