At Retainly, developed by GharKhoj, we are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes how Retainly ("we," "our," or "the App") collects, uses, stores, and handles your information when you use our mobile application. 

By using Retainly, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

1. Our Commitment to Privacy (Offline-First)

Retainly is designed as an offline-first application.

• Your study notes, user names, revision schedules, and learning statistics are stored locally on your device's internal storage using secure local database frameworks (Hive).

• We do not operate proprietary databases or backend servers to collect, analyze, store, or sell your private study content.

2. Information We Collect and How We Use It

A. Personal Information Provided by You

• User Name: When configuring your profile, you may provide a name. This name is stored locally on your device and is used solely to personalize your interface and notifications.

• Google Account Information: If you choose to enable the Google Drive Sync feature:

  • We authenticate your session using Google Sign-In.

  • We access your Google Profile (such as your email address) strictly to identify the connected account, authorize backups, and show you sync status.

  • Your email and account details are stored locally on your device and sent directly to Google's authentication APIs. We do not transmit this data to any third-party servers.

B. Google Drive Sync Data

• Retainly integrates with Google Drive to back up your study data.

• We request access only to the hidden App Data folder on your Google Drive (drive.appdata scope).

• This app-specific directory is hidden from the user and other applications. We cannot read, access, modify, or delete any other files or folders in your personal Google Drive account.

C. Analytics and Diagnostic Data (Firebase)

To improve the performance and stability of Retainly, we use third-party analytics and error-monitoring tools:

• Google Analytics for Firebase: Collects anonymous usage statistics (such as screens viewed, feature engagement, and session durations) and basic device identifiers (such as OS version and device model). This helps us understand how the App is used.

• Firebase Crashlytics: Collects anonymous diagnostic logs and stack traces in the event of an application crash. It also collects system state parameters (e.g., memory utilization and device orientation at the moment of the crash) to help us find and resolve code issues.

D. Device Notifications

• We request permission to send notifications to schedule timely revision reminders.

• Reminders are managed entirely by your local device operating system using the app’s background scheduling tasks.

3. Third-Party Services

• Deleting Backup Data: You can delete your backups by disconnecting Retainly from your Google Account settings, or by deleting the App Data folder associated with Retainly in your Google Drive.

• Opting Out of Notifications: You can disable revision reminders at any time through the App's settings or your device’s notification settings.

5. Children's Privacy

Retainly is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and discover that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately so we can remove the data from our records.

6. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date at the top. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
