Resume Builder: CV Maker · Android package com.cvpdfview.cvmaker.resumebuilder
Published by ishtech · Effective 23 September 2026 · Version 1.1
The short version. Your résumé — everything you type, and any photo you add — stays on your phone. We never receive it and have no way to. The app has no accounts, no advertising, and no usage tracking.
The one thing that does leave your device is an automatic crash report, sent only if the app crashes, so that we can fix the fault. It contains diagnostic information about the failure, never your résumé. Section 5 explains exactly what is in it.
1. Who we are
This app is developed and published by ishtech. For any question about this policy or the app, write to ishtechfast@gmail.com. We are the data controller for the limited processing described in section 5.
2. What this policy covers
The Android application Resume Builder: CV Maker, package name com.cvpdfview.cvmaker.resumebuilder, distributed through Google Play. It does not cover Google Play itself, or any other app you choose to share a file with.
3. Your résumé stays on your device
The app exists so you can write a résumé, and a résumé is personal by nature: your full name, contact details, home address, education and employment history, and whatever you put in a cover letter. You may also add a photograph.
All of it is stored in the app's private storage area on your phone:
What Where it is stored
Résumé content (all sections, objective, cover letter) A private database inside the app's own storage
Profile photograph The app's private files directory
Exported PDF files The app's private files directory
Page images created by "share as images" The app's temporary cache, cleared automatically
Your chosen language and first-run flags App preferences on the device
Android isolates this storage so other apps cannot read it. None of this content is ever transmitted anywhere, is never included in a crash report, and we have no access to it.
Photographs
Adding a photograph uses the Android system photo picker, which returns only the single image you selected. The app never gains access to your photo library, which is why it needs no storage or media permission.
Backups
The app is excluded from Android backup. Your résumé data is deliberately not included in Google's cloud backup, and is not carried across during device-to-device transfer.
Please note the consequence. If you uninstall the app, reset your phone, or lose it, your résumés cannot be recovered — not by you and not by us, because no copy exists anywhere else. If a résumé matters to you, export the PDF and keep that file somewhere safe.
4. Permissions
The app requests no runtime permissions. It does not ask for access to your storage, photos, contacts, camera, microphone or location, and it cannot read any of them.
It declares one normal, non-sensitive permission — INTERNET — used for a single purpose: sending crash reports, as described next. Android grants this without prompting you, and it gives the app no access to anything on your device.
5. Crash reporting — the one thing we receive
The app includes Firebase Crashlytics, a diagnostic service provided by Google. If the app crashes or stops responding, Crashlytics sends us an automatic report so we can find and fix the fault.
What a crash report contains
Included Why
The technical stack trace of the crash Identifies the line of code that failed
Device model, manufacturer and Android version Many faults only occur on particular devices or OS versions
App version and whether the device was rooted Tells us which build failed
Available memory and storage at the time, and how long the app had been running Distinguishes a code fault from the device running out of resources
A randomly generated installation identifier Lets us tell "one device crashing 50 times" apart from "50 devices crashing once", which changes how serious a fault is
What a crash report never contains
Your name, email address, phone number or postal address
Any part of your résumé or cover letter
Your photograph, or any file you created
Your Google account or any account identifier
Your precise location
The Android Advertising ID — the app does not use it
The installation identifier is generated on your device and is not linked to you, to your Google account, or to any advertising profile. Uninstalling and reinstalling the app produces a new one.
How we use it, and for how long
Crash reports are used for one purpose: diagnosing and fixing faults. They are not used for advertising, profiling, analytics or measuring how you use the app. We do not sell or share them.
Google processes this data on our behalf as our processor and retains crash reports for up to 90 days, after which they are deleted automatically. See the Firebase Privacy and Security page and the Google Privacy Policy.
Our legal basis, where the UK or EU GDPR applies, is our legitimate interest in keeping the app working correctly (Article 6(1)(f)). The data involved is technical diagnostic information, not content you authored.
Turning it off
If you would prefer to send no crash reports at all, uninstall the app. There is no partial mode — we would rather say that plainly than offer a setting that does not fully work. If you would like an in-app opt-out, tell us at ishtechfast@gmail.com and we will consider adding one.
6. What we do not do
No advertising. The app contains no ad network of any kind.
No analytics. We do not track which screens you open, which templates you choose, or how often you use the app. Firebase Analytics is not included.
No accounts. There is nothing to sign up for and no profile to create.
No in-app purchases or subscriptions. Every template is free.
No selling or sharing of data. Under the CCPA and similar laws, we do not sell or share personal information, and we never have.
No third-party content. The résumé templates load every font, icon and stylesheet from inside the app. Nothing is fetched from an external website while you work.
7. When your résumé leaves your device — only when you send it
The app never transmits your content. It leaves only when you deliberately:
Share an exported PDF or page image — Android's share sheet opens and you choose the destination yourself;
Print, through Android's system print service and the target you select.
In both cases the file passes to an app or service you chose, and is then governed by that provider's privacy policy. We are not involved and receive no copy.
8. Links that open outside the app
The Settings screen and the first screen link to this policy, to our Terms and Conditions, and to the app's Google Play page. Opening any of them hands off to your browser or the Play Store, each with its own privacy policy. We are not told that you tapped them.
9. Children
The app is a productivity tool intended for adults seeking employment. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13 (or the equivalent age in your country). If you believe a child's information has reached us in a crash report, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Your rights
Data-protection laws including the GDPR and the CCPA give you rights over personal data held about you. Because your résumé never reaches us, those rights mostly resolve inside the app itself:
Access and correct — open any résumé and edit any field at any time.
Export — generate a PDF and save or share it wherever you like.
Delete — move a résumé to the recycle bin, then delete it permanently. The app removes its database records and its exported files. Uninstalling removes everything.
For the crash diagnostics described in section 5, you may ask us to delete any report associated with your installation, or object to that processing, by writing to ishtechfast@gmail.com. We will need the approximate date and your device model to locate it, since we hold no identifier that points to you. You also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority.
11. Security
Your résumé is held in the app's private storage, which Android isolates from other applications and encrypts at rest as part of full-device encryption on modern versions. Crash reports are sent to Google over an encrypted connection.
The strongest security property here is structural: we operate no server and hold no database of résumés, so there is no store of your personal information to breach. The realistic risk to your résumé is physical access to your unlocked phone, best addressed with a screen lock.
12. International transfers
Crash reports are processed by Google on infrastructure that may be located outside your country, including in the United States. Google maintains appropriate safeguards for those transfers, including the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses. No other data is transferred, because no other data leaves your device.
13. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top and publish the new version here.
One commitment worth stating plainly: if a future version adds advertising, analytics, an account system, or any other collection, we will update this policy and the Google Play Data Safety declaration in the same release that introduces it, before that version reaches you. We will not add data collection quietly.
