Responder — Privacy Policy

Responder is an Android app that automatically sends a WhatsApp or SMS message to a contact after a phone call ends, based on rules and message templates you set up yourself.
Information We Collect
Call information (phone number, call type, timing), to detect when a call ends or is missed, so the app knows when to send a message.
Contacts, to personalize messages with the caller's name, and to let you exclude specific contacts from automatic messages.
Message content, the text and files you set as message templates. Stored only on your device.
Subscription status. If you subscribe, Google Play Billing handles payment directly. We never see or store your payment details; the app only receives confirmation of an active subscription from Google Play.
How Information Is Used
Everything above stays on your device. Responder does not operate a server and does not upload your call log, contacts, or message content anywhere. The only outside communication the app initiates is handing off the message you configured to WhatsApp or your SMS app, exactly as if you typed and sent it yourself, plus checking subscription status with Google Play.
Permissions We Request
Call log and phone state, to detect when a call ends or is missed.
Contacts, to personalize messages and manage the exclusion list.
SMS, to send messages via SMS as an alternative to WhatsApp.
Accessibility service, to send the message inside WhatsApp on your behalf.
Display over other apps, to show the in-call quick-message menu.
Notifications, to detect WhatsApp calls and show app status.
Storage and media, to attach files or images to message templates.
Data Retention
All data described above is stored locally on your device only. Uninstalling the app permanently deletes it. We do not keep a copy anywhere else.
Third-Party Services
Messages are sent through WhatsApp, subject to WhatsApp's own Terms and Privacy Policy (whatsapp.com/legal). Subscription purchases are processed by Google Play, subject to Google Play's Terms of Service.
Children's Privacy
Responder is not directed at children and is not knowingly used to collect information from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
