At our school, Respectful Relationships is embedded in all aspects of school life and is an important part of our commitment to creating a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment for every student.
The Respectful Relationships program helps students develop the knowledge, skills and attitudes needed to build positive relationships, manage emotions, communicate effectively and demonstrate empathy and respect for others. Through engaging classroom learning, students explore topics such as emotional literacy, personal strengths, positive coping strategies, problem-solving, resilience, and respectful relationships.
As a whole-school approach, the principles of Respectful Relationships are reinforced through our school values, wellbeing initiatives, classroom practices and everyday interactions. Staff work together to model respectful behaviours and create learning environments where every child feels valued, connected and empowered to succeed.
We recognise that families play a vital role in supporting children's social and emotional development. We encourage parents and carers to engage with the program by discussing the concepts at home and working in partnership with the school to promote respect, kindness and inclusion within our community.
Through Respectful Relationships, we aim to equip our students with the confidence and skills to build healthy relationships, make positive choices and become respectful, responsible and resilient members of the community.
