During the past decades, the technology for particle detection has been improved, thanks to the development of novel devices to collect light. The light collection devices known as Multi-Pixel Photon Counter (MPPCs) are used in different particle physics experiments around the globe. These devices are sensitive to temperature variations and electronic noise. The 3D-projection scintillator tracker (3DST), a sub-system for the Deep Underground Neutrino Experiment near detector complex will use the MPPCs as a light collection system. In this talk, I will describe the first steps to designing a light calibration system to monitor the stability of the 3DST light collection system.
