History of HMS Princess Beatrix and HMS Queen Emma LSI (Landing Ship Infantry - Small) - World War 2
My research into the ships and their crews busy wartime careers in World War 2 and their subsequent return to Cross Channel Ferry Service
until their scrapping in 1968.
The original intention was just too get some extra details to aid in the building of a radio controlled scratch built model of HMS Princess Beatrix originally a Dutch built cross channel ferry, on which my Uncle Stanley Lee served on throughout most of that conflict, but the deeper we dug into their Wartime and Civilian history, the more interested we got in all aspects of their adventures.
My thanks to Uncle Stanley Lee, David "Yorkie" Hoyle, Douglas Green, David W.Murray, David Roughley, Rickles23, De Schelde Ltd., British + Netherlands Maritime Museums and the many others contacts, from all the armed services world wide for their help and contributions to my research.
