Research and Development Cell
Research, innovation and development are essential components of quality education dissemination by Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) . Shri Shahu Mandir Mahavidyalaya has taken up the initiative of establishing a Research and Development Cell (RDC) as mandated by the Government of India for the creation and transfer of knowledge and to put in place a robust mechanism for developing the research ecosystem in the campus in the year 2023. The research initiatives are strengthened by the generation of knowledge, innovation and technology for the larger benefit of the society by mobilization of resources and funding. RDC works through the human, intellectual and financial capitals, research promotion and guidance, innovations and incubation systems, capacity building, integrity and ethics, and fostering community, industry and governmental collaborations at local, national and international levels. RDC serves as a nodal center for ideation and conceptualization of research programs through the conduct of workshops, training programs, conferences, and seminars.
RDC encourages the research culture in the campus and encourages students and faculty to undertake research problems in the newly emerging fields. Under the umbrella of RDC, one research center works in the campus - Ph. D. Centre in Commerce.
RDC has encouraged interdisciplinary research projects, which involve faculty and students from various departments of the college. Since 2017 total 4 faculties have competed Minor and Major Research Projects funded by UGC and Savitriba Phule Pune University. In the year 2023, two Projects proposal is sent to ICCSSR for funding.
Various conferences, seminars, workshops and training programs are conducted under the aegis of RDC to cater to the students, and faculties.
