To provide our critical safety services effectively, we collect the following categories of information:
Profile Information: When you register, we collect your Full Name, Email Address, Gender, Your Phone Number, and your designated Family Emergency Contact Number.
Real-Time Location Data: We collect continuous GPS and network-based location data to provide our core emergency features.
Device and Usage Data: We automatically collect technical information, including your device model, operating system version, unique device identifiers, IP address, and app usage statistics to ensure the app functions correctly across different devices.
3. Essential Permissions and Justification
RESCUEN relies on specific Android device permissions to operate during life-threatening situations:
Background Location (ACCESS_BACKGROUND_LOCATION): We require "Always On" or "Allow all the time" background location permissions. This is absolutely essential to operate the 1KM Radar and ensure accurate SOS alerts reach nearby users even when the app is minimized or the screen is locked.
SMS Permissions (SEND_SMS): We require permission to send SMS messages. This is strictly utilized to dispatch automated, silent text messages containing your emergency status and GPS coordinates to your predefined family contact ONLY when you trigger the SOS button. We do not access, read, or store your personal inbox messages.
4. How We Use Your Data
Your emergency data (Name, Phone, Live Location) is explicitly utilized to facilitate your rescue. It is broadcasted to nearby RESCUEN users and your family contacts strictly during an active SOS event. The Location Data is also used continuously to match you with nearby users for the 1KM Radar feature. Furthermore, queries entered into the "AI Help" section are processed to provide immediate safety guidance. WE STRICTLY DO NOT SELL, RENT, OR TRADE YOUR PERSONAL DATA TO ADVERTISERS OR THIRD-PARTY DATA BROKERS.
5. Third-Party Services and Security
RESCUEN integrates highly secure, industry-leading third-party services to ensure reliability:
Google Cloud & Maps API: Used to securely display your real-time geolocation and pinpoint emergency events on the interactive map.
Firebase (Firestore & Authentication): Employed for secure database management and verifying user identity.
Gemini AI Assistant: Powers the automated "AI Help" feature.
We protect your data using robust security measures. We employ Firebase App Check (Play Integrity) to block unauthorized bots and secure the database from malicious API requests. Our application code is protected via ProGuard obfuscation to prevent reverse engineering. Strict Firestore Security Rules ensure that only authenticated users can access their respective data. All data is encrypted in transit using secure HTTPS protocols.
6. Data Retention and Deletion
You retain full control over your data. You have the right to request account deletion at any time via the "Profile" section of the App. Upon submitting a deletion request, your account enters a 30-day suspension period. During this time, your data remains inactive. If the request is not cancelled, your Personal Data is permanently and irreversibly wiped from our Firebase servers after 30 days.

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in our practices or relevant laws. We will notify you of any significant material changes via in-app notifications. Your continued use of the App following such notifications constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
