The story of Osvakia begins in 1021, with the founding of the City State of Matesolles around the coastal city. In the 1230s, the city began to expand into the "Outer Waves," which later became known as Greater Osvakia. By 1299, the nation had changed its name to the "Kingdom of Matesolles and Outer Waves."

In the early 1300s, the kingdom made contact with Rothelam, but generally stayed away from them. By the late 1300s, people had started moving out into the rural area formerly called the "Outer Waves," which was now known as Greater Osvakia. In 1455, the balance had shifted, and Greater Osvakia became the dominant part of the kingdom. As a result, the kingdom changed its name to "Osvakia."

The 1500s marked a period of stability and significant growth in the cities of Matesolles, Meliessé, and Pierlesplaé. In 1559, the nation made its first contact with Chesira, but the contact was generally negative, so Osvakia stayed neutral.

In 1689, an anti-monarchy demonstration in Meliessé got out of control, and the city was burned down, killing at least 500,000 people. The arts became a central part of Osvakian culture in the 1700s, with big artists like Mioulle Lebou becoming world-famous and giving Osvakia some recognition.

In the early 1800s, there was a population boom in the big cities, and industrialization was going well. By the late 1800s, the king had lost his powers, and Osvakia became a constitutional monarchy with the parliament having all the power.

In 1908, the Great Liberal Party was formed, with their main goal being to remove the monarchy as a whole. In the early 1900s, a world war started, and Osvakia stayed neutral, only giving access through the nation to attack Chesira. As a result, Osvakia gained part of Chesira, making it the third region of the nation.

In 1935, the monarchy fell. From the 1950s to the 1990s, many national conservative governments ruled the nation. In 1995, the first left-wing government ruled the nation.

In the 2000s, liberal politics became the norm, giving many more rights to women, queer people, and other minorities. In 2025, the Liberal Party switched sides, making the first Liberal-Socialist government in Osvakia. They will try to make Osvakia a globally known name.
