 If the geyser is left on for 8 hours or more, then water temprature controler thrmostate can be defrantial. defrantialy  thermostat may not turn off the heating element at right time from over heating of water. This could cause the water to heat up too much, which could burn or harm you. Leaving a geyser for a long period can also expand to internal heater element coil. and when will switch off to geyser heater coil will open or brock by the coldnes of water. and it will couse not heating.

It will be stop reason of a short circuit in the electric system and could have caused the MCB to trip and shut off the power supply to the geyser. try again by turning up MCB.
