"From the tall ceilings, sunlit bathroom, spacious kitchen, and generous closet space, the one-bedroom apartment at Historic Roxbury is a dream apartment. I lived there for one and a half years, and I found the local amenities to be wonderful! It was conveniently located for a nice walk or short bus ride to my work in the Longwood Medical Area. And also conveniently located near the South Bay Shopping Center and my personal favorite- Dorchester Brewery and M&M BBQ. Street parking was convenient, and I was often able to park right by the front door. I also cannot speak highly enough about the owner of Historic Roxbury. They were very welcoming and responsive with any maintenance issues. And they were very communicative about any time they needed to access the apartment."
"As you know, the apartment is beautiful, incredibly reasonably priced and in a great location. The only negative experience I've had has been with the roommates who currently live there."
"I have rented from Historic Roxbury for two years and have found her to be a dedicated and responsive landlord. As a community leader, Historic Roxbury is knowledgeable about the neighborhood and takes care to communicate its goings-on with her tenants. They care for the property and the well-being of her tenants and is prompt in responding to questions and concerns. Historic Roxbury has been willing to work with me on an individual basis to determine my lease terms, and values communication and compromise. In a housing market that often feels impersonal and big-business, it has been refreshing to rent from a community member like Historic Roxbury, who is invested in her work and people."
I came to Boston from Denver to prepare for my graduate studies and I was scoundering for a place to live. Luckily, I was able to find this place and was allowed to move into apartment ahead of my scheduled move-in date of September 1st, 2017. Historic Roxbury was willing to finish any renovations that she had to do while I moved in early. Since September of 2017, the owner of Historic Roxbury has checked-in with me at least biweekly to make sure that I am enjoying my stay and to ask if there are any issues with the apartment.
Historic Roxbury has also responded within the same day whenever I had an issue with my apartment or to alert me of any issues or renovations that had to occur in the apartment below me. In addition, Historic Roxbury has personally invited me to partake in Roxbury community events that she has with the neighborhood association in which they are active. Historic Roxbury has even introduced me to my neighbors so that I can build good rapport with them. I must not forget that for the past year, Historic Roxbury has given me the best advice for my past relationship with my partner and was willing to help solve any issues that I had with my partner. Ultimately, Historic Roxbury is a good member of the Roxbury community and strives to make it a place welcoming for all people. Historic Roxbury has been nothing but fair to me and has always wished the best for me.
"Living in a Historic Roxbury property was a great living experience. The apartment is priced reasonably, as it is a large space and comes with a full kitchen. The rooms are spacious and have plenty of storage space, including the shared walk-in closet. There is plenty of natural lighting from the windows and sun-roofs. Coming from a college rental experience, working with Historic Roxbury was a breeze!
The owner is incredibly respectful and is punctual in addressing any concerns regarding the living space. i was very pleased with how easy and fast any issues I had were addressed. All in all, I had a positive experience living and working with Historic Roxbury!"
"I always appreciated the fact that Historic Roxbury kept up the property by making regular repairs, had scheduled pest control with Terminex, and gave me proper notice when they needed access to the apartment. I have nothing to complain about."
"I lived in a Historic Roxbury unit for 2 years. I appreciated that they are local Roxbury natives and very involved in their community. They are friendly and open property owners. They were receptive of my needs as a student and made sure to check in to make sure my living situation accommodated my studies."
"Tenants who don't like landlord's rules or response to a particular situation should keep in mind that they are the consumers and that there are plenty of other places to live. The landlord just needs tenants to adhere to the lease that they sign. I think that is only fair."
"The theory is that landlords need to be given the chance to correct the problems, at least to a certain degree, because it's their duty to create a safe and habitable atmosphere for their residents. If they don't know about problems, they cannot take measures to correct them. A rental is a business that relies on respectful communication that build tenant and landlord relationships."
