RentalProof NZ Privacy Policy

RentalProof NZ is a rental inspection app for self-managing landlords. This Privacy Policy explains how the app handles information.
Information stored in the app
RentalProof NZ may store information you enter into the app, including:
- property addresses
- tenant names and contact details
- landlord name
- inspection dates and notes
- inspection photos
- task details
- reminder dates
- tenant notice records
- PDF inspection reports
This information is stored locally on your device unless you choose to export, share, back up, or send it outside the app.
Photos and inspection reports
Inspection photos are stored on your device. When you export a PDF report, RentalProof NZ may create optimised copies of photos for that report. Original inspection photos remain stored in the app unless you delete them.
If you share a PDF report, photo, or other file using iOS sharing tools, that sharing is handled by the service or app you choose.
Notifications
RentalProof NZ can schedule local notifications for task reminders and inspection reminders. These reminders are generated on your device. RentalProof NZ does not send remote push notifications.
Purchases and subscriptions
RentalProof NZ uses Apple and RevenueCat to manage in-app purchases, subscriptions, purchase status, and restore purchases. Apple and RevenueCat may process purchase-related information needed to manage subscriptions, receipts, and entitlements.
RentalProof NZ does not receive your full payment card details.
Data sharing
RentalProof NZ does not sell your personal information.
RentalProof NZ does not upload your property, tenant, inspection, task, photo, or report data to a RentalProof server in the current local-device version.
Your data may leave the app if you choose to export or share it, for example by sending a PDF report by email, saving it to cloud storage, or sharing it through another app.
Legal and tenancy information
RentalProof NZ helps you keep inspection records and prepare tenant notice wording. It does not provide legal advice. You are responsible for checking your own legal obligations and sending notices correctly.
Data deletion
You can delete records within the app. Deleting a property or inspection data may remove related local records and app-managed files from your device, subject to the app’s safety checks.
You may also remove the app from your device. Depending on your iOS backup settings, some app data may remain in device or iCloud backups controlled by Apple.
Children
RentalProof NZ is not designed for children.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated as the app changes.
