THEME:
NIGHTFELL is an LGBTQ+ psychological horror about navigating your way through grief in a world where everything seems bleak after losing the person closest to you.
LOCATION:
This is set in the Highlands of Scotland. In a merge of Dundee and Thurso, we are introduced to Nightfell, a small town filled with ghosts.
EPISODE ONE: FIRE & STREETLIGHTS
An introduction episode to get to know the characters, past and present. We first meet Gray and witness his friendship with Ryuu grow as they do. After the fire, we see a decline in Gray's mental state as he navigates his way through life and torment. In this episode, we are also introduced to Death, Ryuu's family, Nora, and Noah.
EPISODE TWO: FEELINGS AND GHOSTS.
We learn more about Ryuu's past, his memories and his passing. After meeting Noah, we see Gray evolve emotionally, learning more about his feelings, and the type of spirits there are. We also witness a side of Death that they usually never show, at least to Noah and Gray.
EPISODE THREE: DEATH AND GOODBYES.
We see Noah and Gray working together to find Ryuu but when they believe they are close to finding him. Something, someone splits them apart. Meanwhile, Ryuu has come out of hiding and Gray holds a core memory that he believes can bring the person he once loved most and return him to the surface.
During the summer of 2023, as I was about to start my 4th year at University, my father suddenly passed away. I decided I'd focus on graduating like I promised him and that is how Nightfell came about. I was (and am) grieving a loss so close to my heart that writing Nightfell allowed me to showcase my emotions creatively and it still does.
My father accepted and protected me. This will always be for him.
