Website: https://vit.ac.in/pdcube/
The event gives a platform for knowledge dissemination and understanding in-recent advancement in engineering, technology, and management towards design, development, and deployment of a product. The knowledge of design, manufacturing and processing of material, as well as the simulation helps in product realization. Product Design always cater to design and material selection then the Product Development is done by employing suitable processing and manufacturing. The logistics as well as other management and marketing techniques helps in the deployment of the product in the market. One of the most important responsibility of researchers and academicians is to be innovative and develop new products useful to the society. This event is structured in a way that the recent research outcome is discussed and it is aimed at bringing experts from research, academia, and industry in a single platform for the benefits of participants. Further, it is also aimed at faculty members, research engineers/scientists, full-time and part-time research scholars, who are actively involved in the research. The sessions are organized in such a way that participants of the conference will get a better insight into the recent proceedings in the area of "Product Design, Development& Deployment".

WORKSHOP ON ADVANCES IN MATERIALS, MANUFACTURING, AND PROCESSING OF BIO-SCAFFOLDS FOR TISSUE ENGINEERING APPLICATIONS
Sponsored by
DEPARTMENT OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY
GOVERNMENT OF INDIA
27 April 2022 – 01 May 2022
Role: Coordinator
Website: https://vit.ac.in/SERB-SSR Activity
The workshop is organized by School of mechanical engineering, VIT, Vellore on behalf of Department of Science and Technology - Science and Engineering Research Board (DST-SERB) as a part of Social Scientific Responsibility (SSR) for the funded project titled “Design and development of CNT reinforced ceramic composite scaffold by additive manufacturing technique for bone tissue regeneration” (SRG/2019/002038). The workshop gives a platform for knowledge dissemination and understanding in recent advancement in the fabrication and applications of BIO-SCAFFOLDS. The knowledge in material selection, scaffold design and manufacturing help in the realization of scaffolds for specific applications. The growing demand for developing patient specific scaffolds calls for innovative and effective research approaches. Additive manufacturing of bio scaffolds is a progressively growing field to meet the need for patient specific scaffold development. Manufacturing bio scaffolds with appropriate bio compounds enhances the regeneration potential of the diseased or damaged bone or tissue. This event aims at bringing industrial experts and researchers together for understanding the novel techniques and approaches involved in the material selection, manufacturing and processing of bio scaffolds for tissue engineering applications.
The objectives of the workshop are
1) To provide an insight into the growing research activities and technologies involved in the development of bio-scaffolds for tissue engineering applications and
2) To interact and gain knowledge from eminent researchers working in the field of tissue engineering.
The Workshop will be conducted online in a hybrid mode consisting of 60% internal participants and 40% external participants. The participants will be mostly Faculty and Research scholars. The certificate will be provided based on the attendance and quiz performance.
77 candidates registered for the events which includes students, research scholars and faculty from different institutes. 41 participants were from other institutes and 36 from VIT Vellore.
