Robert W. Barron, PhD

Director

Professor Barron’s research focuses on energy technologies and their impact on climate change. His past research has examined how advancements in renewable energy technologies can reduce the long-term costs of reducing carbon emissions. His current research is focused on local-scale problems in the Water-Energy-Food-Nexus, including developing decision support tools for local-scale stakeholders facing climate change adaptation decisions and assessing renewably-powered, local-scale fertilizer and water treatment systems for Small Town and Rural (STAR) agricultural communities.

Nanaadom Abayie Nyarko

PhD Candidate

Nanaadom Abayie Nyarko is a seasoned Renewable energy Engineer with a specialty in solar photovoltaic systems. He exudes passion for research in climate change, clean energy and environmental sustainability. As a young energy enthusiast, he's worked with various energy firms including Energy Masters, Wilkins Engineering and the Ghana Atomic energy commission, where he's gained experience and learned from diverse industry players. Currently, he is a Ph.D. research Assistant in the Renewable Energy Applications and Impacts Research Group at Western New England University.


Janose Osedeme, MSc., CAPM

PhD Candidate

Prior to the Ph.D in Engineering Management at Western New England University, the scholar Janose Osedeme earned two Master degrees from Pennsylvania State University; Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering and Master of Professional Studies in Engineering Management, and a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering from Covenant University. He is a PMI Certified Associate Project Manager. Janose has worked in project management and industrial engineering roles in the manufacturing industry. He has also worked on novel biomechanical research projects with the Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine. Janose also taught an Engineering Design course at Pennsylvania State University. His primary interest areas are innovative product development, project management and additive manufacturing. His current research is centered on the disruptive electric vehicle technology and its attendant consequences to Low-to-Medium Income countries.

Morgan Wojcik

Morgan Wojcik is an undergraduate student at Western New England University, studying industrial engineering. After finishing her bachelor's degree, she plans to continue to get her master's degree from Western New England in engineering management. She is excited to begin her first research project. She will focus on refining FEWcalc which was created within the FEWtures Project. Her goal in participating in research is to develop her knowledge in app development and human factors engineering.

Jeffrey Nolan

Jeffrey Nolan is a Sophomore undergraduate student at Western New England University, studying for his Bachelor's in Industrial Engineering. Along with working as a Calculus 2 grader this is his first research project. He is very excited to learn the process of researching and helping improve the FEWcalc app for the FEWtures Project. He hopes he can help improve the app and develop a deeper understanding of user interfaces working in a team.
