Renacimiento de la Esperanza y Unidad is a youth-led community organization based in Bridgeville and Greenwood, Sussex County, Delaware.
We are a group of local high school students dedicated to supporting Hispanic and immigrant families through practical assistance and compassionate support.
We provide food assistance, transportation to essential services, translation help, and basic rights education — all while building a safe, welcoming community where families can navigate challenges with dignity, confidence, and hope.
Our work is guided by strong values: strict privacy, cultural respect, youth leadership, and a commitment to serving our neighbors as fellow members of the Sussex community.
We provide food help through community donations and partnerships with local events and organizations. Our focus is on collecting and distributing non-perishable food to families in need. While we are not a large-scale food bank, we work to make sure that what we collect is distributed thoughtfully and respectfully. Our goal is to reduce immediate food insecurity in our community while building connections to longer-term resources when available.
We offer limited transportation support to help individuals and families get to important places such as appointments, grocery stores, or community services. This support depends on volunteer availability and is not guaranteed at all times. We prioritize safety, coordination, and clear communication when arranging rides. We help where we can and encourage long-term, reliable solutions through community connections and resources.
We provide basic translation support to help bridge communication gaps, especially for Spanish-speaking community members. This may include assisting with conversations, forms, or understanding general information. We are not certified translators, and we do not provide legal or official translation services. When situations require professional or legal translation, we help connect individuals to trusted organizations that can provide that level of support.
We offer basic, accessible information about rights and available resources so individuals can better understand their options and feel more confident navigating systems. This includes general guidance and referrals to trusted organizations for more detailed or legal assistance. We do not provide legal advice. Our goal is to empower people with knowledge while ensuring they are directed to qualified professionals when necessary.
