Step 1: How to access Teams
(using a computer web browser)
Slides 1-2: Once you are logged into your Office 356 account (through a web browser), you can access Teams by clicking the 3x3 square on the top left.
(using a computer program)
(using a tablet app)
Download the Microsoft Teams app and log into your Office 356 account.
*Helpful Tips*
You will be required to download the app in order to access Teams using a tablet.
You will not be able to initiate a call using the tablet app. However, you can connect your tablet to a call (refer to step 3).
Step 2: How to set up classes in Teams
Once in Teams,
Slide 1: Click the "Join or create team" button
Slide 2: Click "Create team" button
Slide 3: Choose class
Slide 4: Give your class a name and (optional description)
Slide 5: Add your students (and co-teachers, if any)

How to use Teams for remote teaching (video/audio call)
Slide 1: Click the camera icon on the bottom
Slide 2-3: To stay better organized, add a subject to name your video call
Slides 4-5: You can use the on/off to control your video. Click the "Meet Now" button to start the video call.
Slides 6-7: Use the "Schedule a Meeting" button in case you want to schedule your video call at a later time.

Slide 13: Show/hide participants (with the mute all participants)
*Helpful Tips*
Teams organizers can mute microphones for all participants.
Recordings get saved in the Teams posts. All participants have the ability to start/stop a recording.
Teams organizers cannot end a call. In other words, participants may remain on the call even after the organizer has left.
You can remove participants individually (refer to features).
This can be especially helpful when you are experiencing issues. You can merely end the call and join back in where you left it.

How to use Teams for remote teaching (iPad screen sharing)
Download the Teams app onto your iPad. Log in using your Office 365 account email and password.
Slide 1: Please note that before you screen share your iPad, you must first be in the call using a computer web browser. When you open Teams on your iPad, you will be prompted to join the call. Click the "Join" button.
Slides 2-3: Swipe down the Control Center and hold down the screen recording control. Find Teams in the list of apps and click "start broadcast." You will now see that your computer video has changed to you iPad screen.

When sharing your screen, it is best practice to temporarily turn off notifications (click to see how).
How to use Teams for remote teaching (posts and files)
Slide 1: You can find everything in the post tab (conversations, files, assignments, etc.)
Slide 2: Use the files tab to upload class materials.
How to use Teams for remote teaching (create assignments)
Slides 1-2: To create an assignment, click the Assignment tab and create.
Slides 3-4: You will be given the options to create a new assignment, quiz or use an existing assignment.
Slides 5-7: Fill out the information for your desired assignment. It is important to include instructions for your students. You can add a category, multiple resources, a rubric.
Slides 9-16: You can assign this assignment to multiple classes or select student(s).
Slides 17-21: At the bottom, click edit to set more date details:
Schedule the assignment in the future and set the date students can access it
Close date and set if students are able to submit it late
Slides 22-23: Choose to save it (under drafts) or assign it (under assigned)
