Alina Tunin-Ley (La Réunion) – Marine biotechnologist and Project Officer at CITEB (Technical Centre for Fisheries in Réunion). She leads projects on the valorisation of local microalgae (PHYTOBANK) for biotechnological applications (antioxidant, antimicrobial) and contributes to coastal water monitoring related to phytoplankton and physico-chemistry in the Indian Ocean.
Matthieu Le Corre (La Réunion) – Professor at the University of La Réunion and Director of the ENTROPIE research unit. His research focuses on tropical island biodiversity and seabird ecology, with an emphasis on population dynamics, conservation, and invasive species management, mainly in the Western Indian Ocean.
Alexandra Rosa (Madeira) – Researcher at the Regional Agency for the Development of Research, Technology, and Innovation (ARDITI). She specialises in water quality and the biogeochemical dynamics of coastal ecosystems.
Filipe M. Porteiro (Azores) – Marine biologist specialised in deep-sea biodiversity, biogeography, and conservation. Former Regional Director for Maritime Affairs for the Government of the Azores, he has led numerous oceanographic campaigns. Since 2022, he has been a researcher at the University of the Azores and Deputy Director of the Azores Marine Sciences Institute.

Patrizio Mariani (Denmark) – Professor at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU), where he leads the Ocean Observation Technology group within DTU Aqua. He specialises in oceanography and marine engineering, focusing on the development of ocean technologies to support integrated marine ecosystem assessments. He is also the coordinator of the European project MISSION ATLANTIC, which aims to assess Atlantic ecosystems for sustainable management, and currently serves as President of EuroMarine.

Her work focuses on strengthening the participation of remote territories in EU research programmes, analysing local research and innovation systems, and promoting inclusive, sustainable territorial development.
