Welcome to my webpage.
I am an Associate Professor of Economics at Glendon College, York University, and Deputy Director of the Robarts Centre for Canadian Studies. I am also a Co-Founder of the Observatory of Populism in Canada.
I began my career as a macroeconomist, studying expectations, financial markets, and business cycle dynamics. Over time, my research has evolved toward computational social science and political economy, combining econometric methods, natural language processing, and large-scale digital data to study political behaviour and public discourse.
My current research focuses on the measurement of populism, political communication, and blame avoidance. While much of my recent work examines Canadian politics, I am broadly interested in how political narratives emerge and spread across different contexts. I work at the intersection of economics, political science, and sociology, developing computational approaches to analyze social media discourse and political behaviour.
My work has been published in journals spanning economics, political science, sociology, and Canadian studies, including the Journal of Mathematical Economics, Financial Management, Canadian Journal of Political Science, Canadian Review of Sociology, Journal of Canadian Studies, Economics & Human Biology, and Review of World Economics.
