Our low fidelity prototype focused on performing the basic main user flows of Reminisce. This gives us a quick and clear overview of the product and conveniences us to iterate multiple versions without wasting energy. We decided that the two paths we would focus on were:
Home Page and First Reflection User Flow
Notification and second reflection User Flow
We interviewed potential users to get a better understanding of the frustrations and needs of our target market in regards to reflection and relationships.
Our participant took 10 minutes to walk through the prototype with no guidance. We found that this would be a good way to see how users would interact with the application for the first time.
Include more initial instructions to guide the user through the different features.
The potential psychological impact that can occur as a result of being prompted to reflect on memories with a partner
Include more onboarding features to familiarize the user with the platform
Made sure to get consent from the user to ask these questions and acknowledge their use.
The transition from low fidelity to higher fidelity prototypes was long and strenuous since we as a team had to dive deep into each user flow that would exist and rethink the functionality and main purposes of the app. An oversight from our team was not creating a low-fidelity prototype that included all of the potential user flows we wanted to include. Since we only created a low fidelity prototype for limited screens and user flows, this set us back in the process of developing the higher fidelity prototype because we had to redesign flows multiple times to ensure the cohesion, uniformity, and usability of the app both from a visual perspective as well as functionality. The next step of this project was to take all our knowledge of our user personas, usability, and design feedback, and polish our screens into something usable and beautiful.
