RemindMe is a medication reminder app designed to help you and your family manage medications. Your privacy is important to us. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

Data We Collect

  Information You Provide

  - Patient profiles: Names and medication schedules you create

  - Medication details: Medicine names, dosages, schedules, and inventory

  - Caregiver contacts: Phone numbers for optional missed dose alerts

  - Doctor visits and medical tests: Appointment information you add

  Automatically Collected

  - Google account email: When you sign in with Google (for backup features)

  How Your Data is Stored

  Local Storage (On Your Device)

  - All your medication data is stored locally on your device

  - Data is encrypted using industry-standard SQLCipher encryption

  - We cannot access your local data

  Google Drive Backup (Optional)

  - If you enable backup, your data is stored in your own Google Drive account

  - We use two Google Drive locations:

    - A hidden app folder (deleted if you uninstall the app)

    - A visible "RemindMe Backups" folder (survives uninstall, for safety)

  - We do not have access to your Google Drive - only you do

  - You can disable backup anytime in Settings

  Data We Do NOT Collect

  - We do not collect health data for analytics

  - We do not sell your data to third parties

  - We do not use your data for advertising

  - We do not store your data on our servers

  - We have no server - all data stays on your device or your Google Drive

  Permissions We Request

• Notifications: To remind you about medications

• Alarms: To schedule medication reminders  

• SMS (optional): To alert caregivers about missed doses

• Location (optional): Required by Android for WiFi Direct phone-to-phone transfer

• Internet: For Google Sign-In and Drive backup

 Third-Party Services

  Google Sign-In

  - Used for authentication and Drive backup

  - Subject to https://policies.google.com/privacy

  Firebase Authentication

  - Used to manage your sign-in securely

  - Subject to https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy

  Caregiver Notifications

  If you enable caregiver alerts:

  - You provide the caregiver's phone number

  - Alerts are sent via SMS or WhatsApp directly from your phone

  - We do not store or transmit these numbers to any server

  Data Transfer Between Devices

  The QR + WiFi Direct transfer feature:

  - Creates a direct connection between two phones

  - Data is transferred locally, not through the internet

  - No data passes through our servers

  Children's Privacy

  This app is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Your Rights

  You can:

  - Delete all data by uninstalling the app and removing backups from Google Drive

  - Export your data using the backup feature

  - Disable backups anytime in Settings

  Data Retention

  - Local data: Kept until you delete it or uninstall the app

  - Google Drive backups: Kept until you delete them from your Drive

  Changes to This Policy

  We may update this policy occasionally. We will notify you of significant changes through the app.
