Survey of 19th Century Philosophy (Summer 2024) - Co-Instructor
In this course, we gave students an overview of a handful of important figures from 19th Century philosophy. Beginning with some necessary background about Kant and his influence, we worked our way through important passages of Schopenhauer's World as Will and Representation, in addition to Kierkegaard and Tolstoy.
Political Philosophy (Spring 2024) - Teaching Assistant
We covered a general survey of some of the major, canonical political theorists, starting with Plato and Aristotle and concluding with Rawls and Nozick.
Philosophy of Art (Fall 2023) - Teaching Assistant
This course covers a range of introductory materials in a variety of topics in aesthetics ranging from snobbery and artistic value all the way to the philosophy of fiction. In addition to my grading duties as a TA, I also provided lectures, a writing workshop, and guided the class through a museum visit.
Science and Society (Summer 2023) - Co-Instructor
Over the course of the semester, we discussed the relationship between society, technology, and science. As a co-teacher for this course, I presented students with material on scientific objectivity, progress, and the relationship between industrialization and cultural conditions.
Mind, Language, and Reality (Spring 2023) - Teaching Assistant
This course covered two classic metaphysical problems—the problem of personal identity and the mind-body problem—as well as introductory material in the philosophy of language. As a teaching assistant for this course, I taught several lectures, graded papers, and gave students detailed feedback.
