This Privacy Policy describes how Remember What ("the app", "we", "us") handles information when you use our Android application. We are committed to being transparent about what data is collected, by whom, and why.
Remember What stores the following data locally on your device only using Android DataStore. This data is never transmitted to our servers because we do not operate any servers.
Reminder items — names, intervals, due dates, notes, costs, and purchase locations you enter
Categories — default and any custom categories you create
App settings — notification preferences, sound override toggle
Purchase history — whether you have purchased the Remove Ads upgrade (stored as a local flag)
All of the above is permanently deleted when you uninstall the app.
The app includes the following third-party SDKs that collect data independently:
Free users see banner advertisements served by Google AdMob. AdMob collects:
Advertising ID (GAID) — a resettable device identifier used for ad targeting and frequency capping
Approximate location — inferred from IP address for regional ad targeting
App interactions — ad impressions and clicks for measurement
This data is shared with Google's advertising infrastructure. You can opt out of personalized ads at any time in your device settings under Google → Ads → Delete advertising ID or by purchasing the Remove Ads upgrade inside the app.

In-app purchases are processed entirely by Google Play. We receive only a confirmation that a purchase was completed — no payment details, card numbers, or financial information are ever accessible to us.

POST_NOTIFICATIONS — to send due-date reminder alerts
USE_EXACT_ALARM / SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM — to fire reminders at the precise time you set
RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED — to reschedule alarms after a device restart
ACCESS_NOTIFICATION_POLICY — to play reminder sounds when your phone is on silent (only when you enable Override Silent in Settings)
INTERNET / ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE — required by AdMob to load advertisements
BILLING — required by Google Play to process the Remove Ads purchase
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any third parties beyond what is described in Section 2 above. We have no backend, no analytics platform, and no user accounts.
All data stored by the app lives exclusively on your device. You can delete it at any time by uninstalling the app. For data collected by AdMob or Google Play, please refer to Google's data deletion tools at myaccount.google.com.
Remember What is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information through the app, please contact us so we can address it.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by an updated "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
