They ask for cures and healings, earthly and spiritual blessings, and peace for body and mind. Because of your friendship with the Lord, He heals those you ask to be healed, and forgives those you forgive. Through your visible wounds of the Cross, which you bore for 50 years, you were chosen in our time to glorify the crucified Jesus. We asked for strength, and you gave us difficulties to make us strong.

Gatherings where people assemble to learn and teach religion and to remember Him are greatly encouraged and valued in Islam. Allah has angels who go about seeking those who remember Allah. Our Prophet (peace be upon him) said:

I am honored, Laura and I are honored that you wouldinvite us and our friends, the Governor and the First Lady and theLieutenant Governor and his lovely wife, to come and celebrate a greatAmerican. We're honored to be in the midst of a social entrepreneur --(applause) -- whose guidebook for entrepreneurship to help others isthe Bible. (Applause.) I want to thank the members of the church, theleaders of the church and those who are in charge of the ministries ofthe church for sharing with us the good works of this church. It is fitting that we honor Martin Luther King in a church.Because, Gregory, I believe, like you, that the power of his words, theclarity of his vision, the courage of his leadership occurred becausehe put his faith in the Almighty. It is fitting we meet here in a church because inthis society, we must understand government can help, government canwrite checks -- but it cannot put hope in people's hearts or a senseof purpose in people's lives. (Applause.) And so as we remember the dream of Martin Luther King and rememberhis clear vision for a society that's equal and a society full ofjustice, this society must remember the power of faith. Thisgovernment of yours must welcome faith, not discriminate faith, as wedeal with the future of this great country. (Applause.)
