Narrowing down the focus of the audience to show them what we saw while working in the environment that every body either passed by those locations and noticed some of the details of human intervention or worked in an area. Usually when we see a beautiful location on a screen we want to get there and experience it by all means, but in this work we almost "reminded" the group of how peaceful and pleasing it is where we are. To share the vision. To tell a story. Faced a new technical learning opportunity on where to start when starting from draft - is it better to apply sound after editing or align editing with the sound? We decided that in our case working on editing on top of a pre made sound.
And there is always so much more to uncover metaphorically, storytelling wise during post production and more.
The REMAINS soundtrack was created by Cléo June
"Nature in itself has a soundtrack. You just have to stop and listen.
I started with field recordings on Pender Island. I would walk around and record sounds found on the island, such as the pine siskin birds and the wind rustling in the trees, and the sound of the water that surrounds the area. Anything that captivated or piqued my ear as something that I know would be hard to hear anywhere else.
I then layered and manipulated these field recordings and use of instrumentation to create soundscapes to be used in the film."
